Food Security in Focus Bunge Volunteers Unite Worldwide on World Food Day 2025

Workers from Bunge’s Martfű and Budapest offices launched their third annual non-perishable food collection, rallying employees to contribute essential food items to local families.

To amplify the impact, Bunge itself donated its Vénusz brand sunflower cooking oil, a staple product in Hungarian households, to ensure families received nutritious ingredients alongside the collected food. On October 17, the donations were officially handed over to the Martfű group of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, a long-standing partner organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups.

Cooking with Compassion: Nourishing Families Together

Building on the success of previous initiatives, Bunge colleagues from Budapest and Martfű also participated in a charity cookout on October 21, in collaboration with the Hungarian Food Bank Association. This event marked the second consecutive year of the charity cookout, following its positive reception in 2024.

During the event, employees joined hands to prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals to local residents facing food insecurity. The 2025 cookout specifically supported the Szarvas Family and Child Welfare Center, providing warm meals and a sense of connection for families struggling to make ends meet.

“This event has become a meaningful tradition for our teams,” said one of the Bunge volunteers. “It allows us to not only provide food but also share kindness, dignity, and solidarity with the people who make up the communities where we work.”
