Restaurants Round1 Unveils Exciting YUU Japanese Food Hall in Ventura Featuring 14 Acclaimed Japanese Restaurants

Round One Entertainment Inc. (“Round1”), the family-friendly entertainment brand from Japan with 60 bowling and arcade locations across the United States, opened a new Round1 Bowling & Arcade at Pacific View in Ventura on October 10, and with it a new business venture: YUU Japanese Food Hall. Located on the first floor of the new venue, YUU brings 14 restaurants celebrated across Japan to the U.S. for the first time.

Bringing those flavors thousands of miles from Japan to California began with a journey back to where each dish was created.

Before opening YUU Japanese Food Hall at Pacific View, members of the Round1 team traveled to Japan to train alongside the restaurants and learn the techniques, preparation and details behind each signature dish. There, they learned firsthand the recipes behind the specialties that led many of these restaurants to have been recognized by reputable food guides.

The goal was not simply to recreate the dishes, but to preserve the flavors and character that have shaped each restaurant’s identity.

Through hands-on training and close collaboration, the Round1 team worked directly with the restaurants in Japan to learn their signature dishes for a new audience. The recipes and their preparation even received the approval of the original restaurants themselves, helping ensure that what arrives in Ventura remains true to what guests would experience in Japan.

Now, YUU Japanese Food Hall brings 14 restaurants together under one roof, creating a dining destination where guests can explore an expansive range of Japanese cuisine, from beloved favorites to regional specialties and sweet treats.

“Ventura will be the first community to experience YUU Japanese Food Hall, and we’re proud to begin here,” said Akira Ide, President and CEO of Round1. “At Round1, we’ve always been passionate about seeking to create Smiles and Everyday Fun for Everyone, Everywhere, and YUU allows us to share another part of that through food. These 14 restaurants entrusted us with offering their dishes, and we’re excited to welcome the Ventura community to gather and experience a taste of Japan close to home.”

Rather than offering a single interpretation of Japanese cuisine, YUU Japanese Food Hall celebrates the individuality of each restaurant. Every concept brings its own specialty, history and approach to the table, inviting guests to discover something new with every visit.

The name YUU comes from the Japanese word for “play,” and the venue is built around that idea. With the food hall on the first floor and Round1’s bowling, arcade games and more in the same building, guests can go from dinner to a full night out without leaving Pacific View.

YUU Japanese Food Hall opened October 10 at Pacific View, 3295 E. Main St., Suite 2, Ventura, CA 93003. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Members of the media are invited to experience YUU firsthand, explore its restaurant concepts and discover the stories and flavors behind their journey from Japan to Ventura.
