How SDC Works
SDC eliminates microorganisms through two mechanisms: 1) The silver ion disrupts structural and metabolic membrane proteins, leading to microbial death; 2) Microbes perceive SDC as a food source, allowing the silver ion to penetrate them. Inside the microbe, the silver ion damages the DNA, stopping replication and resulting in the microbe’s death. This dual action makes SDC highly effective and fast-acting against a wide range of microbes. Unlike traditional silver-based disinfectants, which have shelf lives of only hours to days, SDC is a stabilized silver ion complex with a shelf life of several years. The unique bond in SDC allows the silver ion to stay in solution while enhancing its bioavailability for antimicrobial activity.
