Greenery, Inc. will host a seminar and exhibition focused on low-carbon agriculture and sustainable animal husbandry at the Korea Pavilion in the Blue Zone of COP29, running from November 11 to 13. Headquartered in South Korea, Greenery is a climate tech company offering net-zero consulting services, including climate action planning, Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), and climate risk management.
In October, Greenery launched ENVION, a cutting-edge LCA software that delivers detailed insights into the environmental impacts of products throughout their life cycles. Already in advanced negotiations with major global firms, ENVION is expected to play a key role in sustainable product development.
Greenery also operates POPLE, a voluntary carbon credit certification center and marketplace, ensuring rigorous credit verification and smooth transactions in the carbon market.
At COP29, Greenery will share two case studies on transitioning to low-carbon agriculture in a seminar scheduled for November 12. The first case study will highlight a smart farming system created in partnership with South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency. This system monitors paddy water levels in real-time, reducing methane emissions and conserving water.
The second case study focuses on converting livestock waste—a major greenhouse gas contributor—into biochar, a sustainable form of carbon sequestration. Biochar, made by converting biomass into charcoal, can store carbon for up to a century, providing a powerful tool for carbon reduction.
Following the case studies, a panel discussion on advanced technologies for reducing agriculture’s carbon footprint will feature prominent speakers, including Saskia Sanders, Senior Policy Advisor at Switzerland’s Federal Office of Agriculture; Pankaj Kumam, Founder and Managing Director of Enviance; and Soojeong Myeong, Chief Research Fellow at the Korea Environment Institute.
Running from November 11 to 13, the exhibition will showcase sustainable farming practices and innovative technologies aimed at reducing agriculture’s environmental impact.
“The Conference of the Parties unites global leaders to create solutions for a sustainable future,” said Yoosik Hwang, CEO of Greenery. “Agriculture isn’t just a part of the global warming challenge—it’s central to the solution.”
COP29, organized by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), brings governments and organizations together to address critical environmental issues worldwide.
