Valeo Foods Showcases Major Sustainability Achievements in 2025 Annual Report

Valeo Foods Group, a leading name in the European food and beverage sector, has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, reinforcing the company’s deep-rooted commitment to responsible business practices. Known for producing beloved sweets, treats, and snacks across Europe, the company continues to embed sustainability into the heart of its operations, creating long-term value for both people and the planet.

The newly released report offers a comprehensive overview of Valeo Foods’ performance against key Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics. Framed around the group’s five foundational sustainability pillars—Planet, People, Producers, Partners, and Products—the 2025 report highlights significant strides made over the past year and outlines the company’s vision for a more resilient and responsible future.

Sustainability at the Core of Business Strategy

“Sustainability is no longer an optional part of business—it is a necessity,” said Ronald Kers, Group CEO of Valeo Foods. “Our 2025 Sustainability Report reflects not only our ambition to create long-term positive change but also our accountability to stakeholders, consumers, and future generations. We are proud of our achievements to date, but we acknowledge that there is always more to be done.”

The report has been prepared with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, widely recognized as the gold standard in sustainability reporting. This ensures that Valeo Foods’ performance metrics are credible, transparent, and comparable to global benchmarks.

Five Pillars of Progress

1. Our Planet – Reducing Environmental Impact

Environmental stewardship remains a cornerstone of Valeo Foods’ sustainability approach. In 2025, 71% of the electricity used across the company’s manufacturing facilities came from renewable energy sources, a major step forward in decarbonizing operations. The company has committed to increasing this share further by continuing to invest in solar energy, heat recovery systems, and advanced energy monitoring technologies at multiple sites.

Energy efficiency remains an operational focus. Facility upgrades—such as LED lighting replacements, improved insulation, and the adoption of high-efficiency boilers—have already yielded measurable reductions in energy intensity. Valeo is also working on a roadmap to reach net-zero emissions, with detailed plans expected to be unveiled in the next reporting cycle.

Waste reduction is another priority, with ongoing initiatives targeting food waste minimization and the adoption of circular packaging solutions.

2. Our People – Supporting Employees and Fostering Inclusion

Valeo Foods continues to prioritize the well-being, safety, and inclusion of its workforce. As of 2025, 70% of the company’s employees have access to a dedicated Employee Assistance Program (EAP), offering mental health support, financial advice, and well-being resources. Full coverage for all employees across Europe and beyond is scheduled to be achieved in the coming year.

Beyond well-being, the company has made strides in creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace. Valeo has launched diversity and inclusion training modules, formed employee resource groups, and committed to improving gender balance across leadership roles. Enhanced health and safety programs, regular employee feedback sessions, and robust training and development initiatives are also central to the company’s people-first philosophy.

3. Our Producers – Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing

Valeo Foods maintains strong relationships with its supply chain partners and is deeply committed to ethical sourcing. In 2025, the company achieved a major milestone: 100% of the palm oil used across all products is now fully traceable to source and certified by recognized sustainable palm oil schemes such as RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil).

Additionally, the company is actively working to ensure that all of its direct cocoa and coffee supplies are deforestation-free, supporting initiatives that protect biodiversity and promote fair labor conditions. Traceability systems have been implemented to monitor supply chain compliance, and Valeo is collaborating with suppliers and NGOs to ensure responsible land use and ethical sourcing practices.

These efforts are aligned with Valeo’s broader goal of achieving full transparency and traceability across all high-risk ingredients by 2030.

4. Our Partners – Giving Back to Communities

Valeo Foods has continued to strengthen its community partnerships through food donations, volunteering, and local development programs. In 2025 alone, the company donated 148 tonnes of food to charitable organizations across its markets, helping to combat food insecurity and support vulnerable populations.

The company also engages in long-term partnerships with food banks, educational institutions, and grassroots organizations to amplify its social impact. Many of its brands actively participate in cause-related marketing campaigns, raising awareness and funding for important issues such as children’s nutrition, education, and health.

Employees are encouraged to give back, with dedicated volunteering hours, matching gift programs, and team-led initiatives that support local causes.

5. Our Products – Innovation with Purpose

Product responsibility remains central to Valeo’s growth and innovation strategy. In 2025, 99% of all product packaging was recyclable, placing the company at the forefront of circular economy practices in the European food sector. Packaging teams continue to explore compostable films, mono-material plastics, and the reduction of unnecessary packaging layers.

The company is also focused on reformulating products to meet evolving consumer expectations. Efforts include reducing sugar and salt, removing artificial additives, and increasing the use of natural and plant-based ingredients. Clear front-of-pack labeling, portion guidance, and responsible marketing guidelines help consumers make informed choices.

Innovation pipelines are now reviewed with sustainability and health impacts in mind, ensuring alignment with Valeo Foods’ purpose-led growth model.
