Aramark and Government Officials Celebrate Opening of New Production Facility in Chile

Aramark has officially inaugurated a large-scale prepared foods production center in Lampa, Chile, marking a significant milestone in the company’s regional growth.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Nicolás Grau, Chile’s Minister of Economy, Development, and Tourism; Jonathan Opazo, Mayor of Lampa; and Bernadette Meehan, U.S. Ambassador to Chile, alongside Aramark executives. The event highlighted the facility’s potential to boost job creation and economic growth in the region.

“The commercial relationship between the United States and Chile is a cornerstone of our shared prosperity,” said Ambassador Meehan. “American companies like Aramark demonstrate the strength of our economic ties by leveraging innovation and advanced technologies to drive growth and collaboration.”

A Boost to Employment and Economic Growth
The facility is set to generate over 150 direct jobs initially, with Aramark Chile estimating up to 4,000 additional roles in dining services as production scales. This expansion will contribute to the company’s current workforce of more than 25,000 employees across Chile. At full capacity, the plant will produce 2,000 meals per hour, catering to clients nationwide, from Arica to Punta Arenas.

Equipped with cutting-edge cook-and-chill technology, the new production center underscores Aramark’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Advanced food production software ensures traceability, enhances inventory management, and reduces waste, aligning operations with environmental goals.

A Strategic Investment in Growth
The facility represents a $10 million investment as part of Aramark’s broader growth strategy in Chile through 2027. In its initial phase, the plant will produce 30 recipes from a curated selection of 200 dishes tailored for Aramark Chile’s diverse clientele.

This milestone highlights Aramark’s ongoing commitment to excellence in food service while contributing to Chile’s economic and social development.
