Aramark, a leading global provider of food and facilities services with operations in education, healthcare, business and industry, sports, leisure, and corrections sectors, announced its recognition as a 2024 honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to accelerating people-powered change. The Civic 50 annually honors the top community-minded companies in the United States based on a comprehensive survey.
Aramark engages thousands of employee volunteers throughout the year, particularly during its annual Aramark Building Community Day, to build vibrant, sustainable communities. The company is dedicated to creating employment opportunities, increasing access to healthy food, and enhancing community spaces. In 2023, Aramark supported over one million students, families, and individuals globally through various initiatives, including serving meals, providing snacks and toiletries, donating backpacks and school supplies, leading nutrition education workshops, funding scholarships, and offering educational or employment readiness opportunities.
“Aramark is a hospitality company rooted in service. We’re hundreds of thousands of people working together to bring about the best results for each other, for our clients, for our customers, our stakeholders, and for the communities in which we live and work,” said Debbie Albert, Aramark’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications & Corporate Affairs. “Serving others is just who we are, and we couldn’t be more humbled to be recognized as a 2024 honoree of The Civic 50 by Points of Light.”
For over a decade, The Civic 50 has set the national standard for corporate citizenship, highlighting companies that integrate social impact and community engagement into their business models. Honorees are selected based on four dimensions of corporate citizenship and social impact: resource investment and volunteerism, business integration, institutionalization through policies and systems, and impact measurement.
“Expectations for companies to be leaders in civic engagement continue to increase,” said Jennifer Sirangelo, president and CEO of Points of Light. “Aramark demonstrates how to maximize the full range of their assets – from people power to policy to financial contributions – to meet pressing needs and create thriving communities where they live and work. We’re thrilled to uplift and celebrate them as an honoree of The Civic 50 2024.”
In the previous year, Aramark was honored by The Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia and ranked #1 in the Philadelphia region for engaging employees, enhancing purchasing and supply chain practices, and fostering a diverse and inclusive company culture.
