Aramark Recognized as a Leading Employer for Disability Inclusion

Aramark, a global leader in food and facilities management, proudly announced its recognition as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” by Disability. This prestigious accolade underscores Aramark’s unwavering commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive culture and to recruiting and advancing a diverse workforce that includes people with disabilities.

The Disability Equality Index® is the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool for Fortune 1000 companies to measure disability workplace inclusion and assess performance across industry sectors. The 2024 Disability Equality Index evaluated companies based on culture & leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices (benefits, recruitment, education, retention & advancement, accommodations), community engagement, supplier diversity, and responsible procurement.

Aramark has consistently demonstrated dedication to accessibility and supportive work environments, ensuring that employees with disabilities have the necessary tools and resources to thrive. This is the eighth consecutive year Aramark has received a top score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and empowering all employees to perform to their fullest potential.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from Disability,” said Aramark’s Vice President of DEI, Fenimore Fisher. “As a leading global hospitality partner, we are committed to supporting underserved communities. We are aligned with Disability, collaborating with purpose to promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities, inspiring accessible innovation for all, and advancing a culture of inclusion.”

Thousands of Aramark’s employees are members of the company’s eleven employee resource groups (ERGs), bringing Aramark’s mission of doing great things for people, partners, and communities to life every day. Aramark Thrive, dedicated to employees who self-identify as having a disability and to caretakers and advocates of those with disabilities, is active year-round, supporting employees and the communities Aramark serves.

Earlier this year, in support of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania’s Business Plunge, Aramark Community Relations and Thrive ERG volunteers took an icy dip into a pool set up on the field at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, raising essential funds for year-round sports training and competition for people with intellectual disabilities. Thrive ERG members work diligently to foster an inclusive environment and are active participants in Aramark’s recruitment events, such as a recent hiring event for individuals with autism, and host dozens of students annually at Aramark headquarters during Disability Employment Awareness Month.

“On the 10th anniversary of the Disability Equality Index, we’re extremely proud of the 542 national and international companies that are taking a proactive role in leading progress towards disability inclusion, setting a benchmark for others to follow. Their dedication to fostering inclusive workplaces not only attracts top talent but also drives innovation and creates sustainable performance in today’s global market. Together, we are creating a future where everyone can contribute and thrive,” said Jill Houghton, President and CEO of Disability
