August is Sandwich Month, a time to celebrate one of the world’s most versatile and cherished foods. Since the 1950s, this annual tribute has honored sandwiches in all their delicious forms.
This baseball season, Aramark Sports + Entertainment is spotlighting standout sandwiches across the nation, featuring local favorites and player-inspired creations. Here’s a look at three home run hits from their lineup:
Citizens Bank Park
In Philadelphia, the cheesesteak reigns supreme! At every Phillies game, around 3,000 of these iconic sandwiches are served. Citizens Bank Park’s version features shaved rib-eye on a Liscio’s seeded roll, topped with caramelized onions and your choice of “wiz” or Cooper Sharp cheese sauce.
Executive Chef Iovonnie (Vonnie) Negron recently showcased the sandwich on MLB Network’s “MLB Central,” serving the “sandwich of Brotherly Love” to the show’s hosts. Fans can enjoy this classic at Uncle Charlie’s Cheesesteaks behind Section 109, or at local favorites Tony Luke’s and Campo’s in Ashburn Alley.
Fenway Park
Fenway Park is adding a tasty twist to a comfort food classic with their new creation, the Pig Mac. This sandwich features a grilled cheese stuffed with mac and cheese, pulled pork, and bacon strips, all served on sourdough bread.
Senior Executive Chef Ron Abell notes, “At Fenway Park, we’re always looking to elevate our menu items. This new offering is a result of collaboration with our Culinary and Operations team, and we think fans will love this inventive take on the grilled cheese.”

Kauffman Stadium
Kansas City Royals fans can savor the Vinnie’s Italian Beef Pasqwich, a collaboration with first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino. This indulgent creation includes shaved Italian beef, provolone cheese, bacon strips, crispy hashbrown patties, and giardiniera aioli, all nestled in a buttered and grilled brioche bun.
A portion of the proceeds supports The Kansas City Royals Foundation and Wayside Waifs. Find the Pasqwich at the “Pasquantino’s” stand in Section 208 near Gate A.
