Bayer Appoints Nelson Ambrogio as Head of Radiology Business at Pharmaceuticals Division

Bayer, a leading pharmaceutical company, has announced the appointment of Nelson Ambrogio as the new Head of the Radiology Business within its Pharmaceuticals Division, effective April 1, 2024. Ambrogio, who previously served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bayer’s Oncology Business in the United States, brings over 25 years of global healthcare leadership experience to his new role. Beginning his career with Schering AG, later acquired by Bayer in 2006, Ambrogio has held progressively responsible commercial leadership positions across North and South America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. His extensive background also includes various regional and global roles at Bayer’s headquarters.

Based in Berlin, Germany, Ambrogio will report directly to Stefan Oelrich, Member of the Board of Management at Bayer AG and President of Pharmaceuticals. As part of the Pharmaceuticals Executive Committee, Ambrogio will work closely with Gerd Krueger, the outgoing leader of the Radiology unit, during a smooth transition period. Krueger, who has devoted over forty years of service to Bayer, will retire at the end of March 2024.
