Bunge Expands Global Volunteer Program to Strengthen Food Security in Local Communities

Bunge has broadened its Global Volunteer Program, with employees worldwide engaging in more events to mark the United Nations’ World Food Day. The month-long initiative connects employees with local non-profit organizations, aiming to enhance food security in communities where Bunge operates. This year’s activities span over 85 cities, a 30% increase from 2023, demonstrating Bunge’s dedication to promoting nutrition and well-being and its commitment to driving long-term positive impact in these communities.

“Our team is committed to doing what’s right every day to support the communities where we live and work,” said Robert Coviello, Chief Sustainability Officer and Government Affairs at Bunge. “I’m very proud to see the growing employee enthusiasm for our Global Volunteer Program. It’s great to witness the unique collaborations and activities our employees are leading in more than 20 countries to create lasting change.”

Since its launch in 2022, the program has conducted approximately 200 volunteer events worldwide, benefiting communities where Bunge has a presence. Activities have included organizing food drives, donating food baskets, volunteering at food banks, conducting educational sessions on healthy eating, and supporting local organizations focused on hunger and food access. Many of these initiatives have developed into multi-year partnerships in the communities where Bunge operates.

World Food Day, an international observance established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, seeks to raise global awareness and inspire action for food security. For more details about Bunge’s community impact efforts, click here.
