Chef-Inspired, Trend-Driven Innovations from Nestlé

Guided by its global network of R&D chefs, Nestlé is harnessing culinary expertise to develop trend-forward, flavorful, and nutritious innovations.

Nestlé’s chefs, integrated within its R&D framework, work closely with nutritionists and product developers to create new recipes and prototypes that celebrate a wide range of flavors. By incorporating local and traditional ingredients from various cuisines, these teams craft food and beverages that resonate with global tastes.

To stay at the forefront of culinary trends, Nestlé collaborates with external chefs, hospitality schools, and culinary students. Through a partnership with Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL Group), Nestlé transforms scientific research into practical prototypes for product development.

“The expertise of our chefs is essential in creating great tasting innovations,” said Sheldon Fernandes, Head of Nestlé Global R&D Chefs. “Their culinary knowledge and understanding of global trends enable our R&D and product developers to bring new, exciting flavors that are both nutritious and affordable.”

Nestlé’s collaboration with celebrity Chef Ming Tsai brings authentic Asian cuisine to the U.S. with Mings frozen meals. Designed with both traditional flavors and modern cooking trends, the range includes dishes like Spicy Dan Dan Noodles and Crispy Chicken and Broccoli, which align with the growing air fryer trend. “Mings blends Eastern and Western cooking techniques and ingredients for convenient, delicious meals,” said Chef Ming Tsai.

In the U.S., Nestlé has also introduced a line of Mexican frozen meals featuring Tapatío hot sauce. Developed alongside the Tapatío family, the range includes classics like beef and chicken enchiladas as well as chicken and steak bowls, all designed for easy preparation.

In Europe, Nestlé’s Maggi Magic Asia range brings popular Asian flavors to home kitchens. Developed by culinary teams in Germany and Singapore, this line includes sauces like Tikka Masala, Teriyaki, and Sweet and Sour. With just 10 minutes of cooking, consumers can enjoy Asian-inspired meals at home.

Nestlé’s diverse team of over 35 chefs from 13 countries brings their global culinary experience to inspire and expand the company’s offerings, making it easier for consumers to explore flavors from around the world.
