Chief Executive Officer Jordan Schenck Joins Flashfood to Drive Strategic Growth
Flashfood, the popular app-based marketplace that helps consumers save money on groceries while reducing food waste, has announced the appointment of Jordan Schenck as its new Chief Executive Officer. The leadership transition, effective immediately, marks a pivotal moment for the company as it accelerates its expansion across North America and doubles down on its mission to combat food waste and improve access to affordable groceries.
Schenck succeeds Nicholas Bertram, who has led Flashfood since its early growth stage and will continue to serve on the company’s board of directors. Her appointment follows a successful tenure as Flashfood’s President and Chief Operating Officer—a role she assumed in October 2024 after previously serving as Chief Customer Officer and Chief Brand Officer.
Bertram, who originally recruited Schenck to Flashfood in early 2023, expressed full confidence in her ability to steer the company into its next chapter. “Jordan is a generational talent, and her growth over the last two years has benefited our company tremendously. She is ready to take on this role, and I am thrilled for her to lead our talented teammates as they achieve our mission of feeding families, not landfills,” said Bertram. “Her leadership, creativity, and relentless drive have made an enormous impact on our growth and direction.”
A Milestone Moment for Flashfood
The leadership change comes at a time of tremendous momentum for Flashfood. Since completing its Series A funding round in 2022, the company has achieved over 200% revenue growth and added more than 1,000 retail doors, significantly expanding its presence. Flashfood is now active in 33 U.S. states and all 10 Canadian provinces, making it one of the most widely available platforms for discounted, near-expiry groceries in North America.

Beyond expanding its footprint, Flashfood has accomplished several key milestones that underscore its innovation and social impact. The company achieved B Corporation Certification, a recognition of its commitment to high social and environmental standards, transparency, and accountability. It also launched a replatformed version of its consumer-facing app to improve user experience and scale more effectively.
One of Schenck’s most notable achievements as President and COO was leading the company’s brand transformation in January 2024. The rebranding effort refreshed Flashfood’s visual identity and messaging to better reflect its values and appeal to a broader audience. Under her guidance, Flashfood also launched Flashfood for Independents, a new solution tailored for independently owned grocery stores. The initiative aims to democratize access to the company’s platform, enabling small grocers to participate in the fight against food waste while boosting their bottom lines.
Visionary Leadership and a Product-Driven Future
Now stepping into the CEO role, Schenck outlined an ambitious vision for Flashfood’s future. “I am energized by the extraordinary potential ahead of us. Flashfood’s technology has the power to build a world where food is never wasted and access to affordable, fresh products is a daily occurrence,” said Schenck. “With a product-driven approach, relentless innovation, and the use of AI, we will empower grocers to turn close-dated inventory into a competitive advantage—earning more frequent shoppers and wasting zero food.”
Schenck emphasized the company’s intention to enhance its AI capabilities to better predict consumer demand and optimize inventory management for grocery partners. By using data-driven insights, Flashfood aims to create a virtuous cycle where food nearing expiration is offered to consumers at reduced prices before it ever becomes waste. This approach helps retailers recover revenue while giving customers more affordable access to fresh groceries.
Support from the Board and Investors
Industry leaders and board members have voiced their support for Schenck’s appointment. Chuck Templeton, Board Director at Flashfood and Managing Partner at S2G Ventures—an investor in the company—shared his confidence in her leadership. “Flashfood has achieved significant growth in recent years, and Jordan has demonstrated outstanding leadership and vision during a pivotal period for the company,” said Templeton. “Her growth mindset and deep understanding of consumer and retailer dynamics make her exceptionally equipped to lead Flashfood forward and scale its ability to lower food costs and reduce unnecessary waste.”
Templeton also emphasized the importance of Flashfood’s mission, particularly in an era where grocery prices remain high and food insecurity is rising in many communities. “The work Flashfood is doing is more important than ever,” he added. “Under Jordan’s leadership, the company is well-positioned to become a transformative force in the grocery and food retail industries.”
A Proven Track Record in Consumer Brands
Prior to joining Flashfood, Schenck co-founded Sunwink, a plant-powered wellness beverage company where she served as Chief Revenue Officer. Sunwink quickly rose to prominence as one of the fastest-growing ready-to-drink beverage brands in the United States, carving out a niche among health-conscious consumers.
Earlier in her career, Schenck served as Head of Consumer Marketing at Impossible Foods, where she played a pivotal role in launching the plant-based meat brand into the mainstream. During her time there, she helped scale Impossible’s reach across new product lines and market verticals, contributing to the company’s meteoric rise as a leading force in sustainable food innovation.
Her background in building mission-driven brands and scaling consumer-focused startups brings a wealth of experience to Flashfood, which continues to merge social impact with commercial success.
