St. Louis County Library and the St. Louis County Library Foundation are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Post Holdings, Inc. for the naming rights to key event and outdoor spaces within the upcoming Clark Family Branch, situated at 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Currently in construction, this branch is poised to become a significant community hub, featuring an expansive 800-seat event area and outdoor space to be officially known as Post Plaza and Event Space.
Replacing the former Headquarters building, the Clark Family Branch is scheduled for a grand opening in spring 2024. The Post Plaza Event Space, located on the branch’s first floor, will serve as the venue for the Library’s renowned author series, hosting over 100 bestselling authors annually across various genres. This flexible space, divisible into four rooms, will also be available for library programs, community meetings, and special events. Outside, the Post Plaza courtyard will offer a serene ambiance with lush landscaping, seating, tables, and a nearby walking trail.
Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library Director & CEO, expressed gratitude for Post’s generous support, emphasizing its alignment with the Library’s mission to serve the community. She highlighted the anticipated benefits of the new event space and outdoor area in fostering literary engagement and providing a welcoming environment for visitors.
Diedre Gray, EVP, General Counsel, and CAO of Post Holdings, lauded the St. Louis County Library’s impactful initiatives, citing its dedication to literacy and community welfare. Post’s sponsorship of the new library underscores its commitment to enhancing the region’s educational and cultural resources.
The Clark Family Branch marks the culmination of the Your Library Renewed campaign initiated in 2014, with a focus on expanding and revitalizing library facilities. Boasting a striking two-story design spanning 74,000 square feet, it will stand as the largest branch within the St. Louis County Library District upon completion. Named in honor of Bob Clark, Executive Chairman & Founder of Clayco, whose generous donation of $4 million in 2022 helped propel the project forward, the branch’s architectural vision was brought to life by the esteemed Lamar Johnson Collaborative.
