Compass Group Celebrates Culinary Talent for ‘Food First, Passion Always’

Launched in 2013 by Compass Group, Chef Appreciation Week unites the global food and hospitality industries to recognize the incredible contributions that chefs and culinary teams make every day, not only at Compass but across the world.

This year’s theme, “Food first, passion always,” highlights how being a chef is more than preparing delicious meals. At Compass Group, culinary teams are key business leaders driving impact in critical areas such as sustainability, sourcing, and talent recruitment.

Deb Lee, Group Chief People Officer of Compass Group PLC, expressed her admiration:
“Our chefs are like magicians, creating magic in so many parts of our business. They reduce food waste, source seasonally, support local communities by purchasing from diverse suppliers, continuously hone their craft, and open new doors for our business, all while inspiring us to reach greater heights.

During Chef Appreciation Week, join me in saying thank you and celebrating the extraordinary talent, expertise, and accomplishments of our culinary teams across the globe.”

Chef Einav Gefen, Senior Vice President Chef/Innovator at Restaurant Associates, Compass Group USA, and member of the Compass Group Global Culinary Forum, added:
“Our chefs are the heart of Compass. Without them, we couldn’t serve delicious food, achieve our ambitious sustainability goals, grow our business, or support local communities. With Compass, there’s always room to grow and make a real impact, whether you aspire to be an executive chef or explore a different role within our company. It’s all about food first, passion always.”

Throughout the week, Compass leaders, clients, suppliers, and colleagues will come together across offices, schools, hospitals, defense sites, and sporting venues to show their appreciation for the culinary teams.
