Dollar General Corporation Enhances Board of Directors with New Additions

Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) has announced the appointment of Kamy Scarlett, the senior executive vice president of human resources, corporate affairs, and Best Buy Canada at Best Buy Co., Inc., to its board of directors, effective August 12, 2024. Scarlett will be a member of both the compensation and human capital management committee and the nominating, governance, and corporate responsibility committee.

Michael Calbert, Chairman of Dollar General’s board, expressed enthusiasm about Scarlett’s addition, stating, “We are excited to welcome Kamy to our board. Her extensive experience in retail and her leadership in human resources and corporate affairs over the past thirty years will offer valuable perspectives to support our strategic objectives and growth initiatives.”

With Scarlett’s appointment, Dollar General’s board now includes 10 members.

Since May 2023, Scarlett has been the senior executive vice president of human resources, corporate affairs, and Best Buy Canada at Best Buy Co., Inc. She manages talent development, employee well-being, communications, public affairs, and the Canadian operations of Best Buy. Scarlett, who joined Best Buy in 2014, has previously held several key positions including chief human resources officer and executive vice president of Best Buy Canada from January 2020 to May 2023, and chief human resources officer and president of Best Buy’s U.S. retail stores from January 2019 to January 2020. Before her tenure at Best Buy, Scarlett was chief operating officer at Grafton-Fraser Inc. and held leadership roles at Loblaw Companies Limited, Hudson’s Bay Co., and Dylex Limited.
