General Pump Company Merges with Water Well Solutions

General Pump Company (GPC), the leading provider of utility water well and pump services for Southern California’s essential water infrastructure, is thrilled to announce its merger with Water Well Solutions (WWS), based in Wisconsin and Illinois.

Established in 2000 by a team of experts in the water well industry, WWS has adopted a technology and engineering-driven approach to well and pump maintenance for utilities and industrial water users throughout the Midwest. Like GPC, WWS is a top firm in its region, recognized for its comprehensive perspective on water well operations that ensures the efficient and uninterrupted functioning of vital water infrastructure. This merger will enable both companies to enhance their offerings through shared knowledge, resources, ideas, and talent, ultimately benefiting their long-term customers. Both organizations will retain their existing names, brands, and locations.

“For nearly 25 years, Water Well Solutions has supported utilities, cities, and manufacturers in maintaining their water flow,” stated WWS founder and President, Mike Judkins. “From the beginning, we have been committed to innovation, bringing new ideas and technologies to the industry. We are excited to continue this tradition alongside General Pump Company. Both companies share a commitment to long-term, data-driven service, utilizing the best equipment and dedicated, experienced field technicians in the industry.”

The merger was facilitated by Sylmar Group, a company focused on water-related investments in leading service and technology businesses, whose support will aid GPC and WWS in their continued national expansion.

“Serendipity brought these two outstanding companies together at the perfect time, with General Pump ready to expand beyond our current region and Water Well Solutions poised for growth that requires additional support,” said Peter Brooks, CEO of GPC and Sylmar Group. “We are excited to uphold the legacy of exceptional quality, service, and innovation for all our customers while investing in the talented team of water professionals who drive our success.”

Both General Pump Company and Water Well Solutions are also pleased to announce significant additions to their leadership teams. Earlier this summer, GPC welcomed industry expert Tim Oman as its new President, succeeding long-time President & Director of Engineering, Mike Bodart, who will continue to serve as Director of Engineering. Tim brings extensive experience from his leadership roles at Layne, with a strong track record in operations management, territory expansion, and revenue growth. He joins other key leaders at GPC, including Jim Bruneio, General Manager of GPC’s Camarillo branch, Michael Garcia, VP of Project Management, and Daniel Pichardo, VP of Engineering.

Water Well Solutions is also excited to announce the appointment of Brian Snelten as its new General Manager. A former President of the National Groundwater Association and former Area Manager of Layne’s Aurora, Illinois office, Brian will collaborate with WWS leaders Mike Judkins and Todd Kerry to build on the company’s record-breaking performance. As a fourth-generation well and pump professional and a licensed Professional Geologist, Brian brings decades of experience in water well and pump services, along with a proven history of increasing sales and taking on leadership roles.

“I’m thrilled to join this remarkable company at a pivotal moment and look forward to leveraging my knowledge, experience, and vision for growth in our industry,” said Brian Snelten, WWS’s new General Manager. Tim Oman, President of GPC, added, “The partnership between GPC and WWS will establish a new standard for safe, reliable, and expert water well and pump services. The addition of Brian Snelten, a highly respected leader in the industry, further strengthens our team’s expertise. Together, we are creating a winning team, ready to tackle today’s challenges and drive long-term growth for both organizations.”
