Get ready for a sweet treat, Atlanta! Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, a brand that has crafted handmade ice cream since 1945, is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest store in Midtown Atlanta. This corporate-owned location, marking Handel’s debut in Georgia, will bring their beloved, freshly-made flavors to the heart of the Peach State. Join the celebration at Midtown Promenade, 931 Monroe Dr. Northeast, starting on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The grand opening will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m., with doors officially opening to guests at 11:00 a.m. The first 100 visitors in line will receive Free Ice Cream for a Year! To keep the fun going, Handel’s has planned a weekend packed with activities for all ages, including a Spin & Win prize wheel, live DJ, photo booth, cornhole games, and an onsite broadcast from 680 The Fan.
“We’re excited to bring our award-winning ice cream to Atlanta, a community that celebrates food and flavor,” said Jennifer Schuler, CEO of Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream. “Our stores often become a gathering place for families and friends, and we’re eager to make Handel’s part of Atlanta’s vibrant food scene with our fresh, nostalgic flavors.”
The festivities continue on Friday, November 15, with the first 100 customers receiving a free Handel’s tote at 11:00 a.m., alongside fun activities throughout the weekend like face painting and games.
The new Midtown Atlanta location will also showcase art that reflects Atlanta’s creative spirit. Handel’s has collaborated with local artist Karen Anderson, founder of Tiny Doors ATL, to unveil a Tiny Door installation, making the new store a destination in itself. Handel’s will also partner with the Midtown High School Art Club and non-profit Paint Love to design an outdoor mural, connecting the store even more deeply to the local community.
Recognized this year by Newsweek as one of America’s Favorite Ice Cream Chains and listed in Nation’s Restaurant News’ Top 500 Restaurants, Handel’s is expanding rapidly across the U.S. “Our strong brand heritage, coupled with a scalable business model, is attracting franchisees nationwide. Investing in corporate stores allows us to fine-tune operations and build momentum in new markets like Georgia,” added Schuler.
