Panera Brands Enhances Board Expertise with New Independent Appointments

Panera Brands Inc., the parent company of Panera Bread, Caribou Coffee, and Einstein Bros., has announced significant appointments to its Board of Directors to enhance its expertise in the restaurant industry and support its next phase of growth.

Patrick Grismer, former Chief Financial Officer at Starbucks and current Lead Independent Director at Panera, has been named Board Chair. Additionally, industry veteran David Deno has joined the Board and will assume the role of Audit Committee Chair, effective immediately.

Seasoned Expertise Driving Strategic Growth

Patrick Grismer has been a member of the Panera Brands Board since 2022, previously serving as Audit Committee Chair and Lead Independent Director. His impressive resume includes roles as CFO at Starbucks, Hyatt Hotels, and Yum! Brands, where he oversaw the parent companies of Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut.

David Deno, with over 40 years of experience in the restaurant sector, brings a wealth of operational and financial expertise. He most recently served as CEO of Bloomin’ Brands, parent company to Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, and Fleming’s Steakhouse. His previous roles include CFO and COO at Yum! Brands and its subsidiaries.
