Spreading Unstoppable Joy Empowering Our Partners 2024 This Holiday Season

Supporting Our Partners in Spreading Joy This Holiday Season 2024 During the holiday season, the year-round work of food banks, food pantries, and other nonprofits takes center stage in communities across the United States. DoorDash is proud to support our partners in their fight against food insecurity by delivering groceries through Project DASH and providing Community Credits to help neighbors access essential items during this critical time of year.

DoorDash employees, including senior leaders like Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Liz Jarvis-Shean, General Counsel Tia Sherringham, and Chief People Officer Mariana Garavaglia, dedicated time this month to volunteer at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. The team worked together to pack food bags, contributing directly to the organization’s mission of alleviating hunger. During their visit, they gained a deeper understanding of the food bank’s initiatives aimed not only at addressing immediate hunger but also at tackling its underlying causes.

Executive Director Tanis Crosby and Board Chair Jonathan Walker provided valuable insights into the complexities of hunger within the community, discussing both the challenges faced and innovative solutions being implemented. This hands-on experience highlighted the importance of corporate engagement in community support efforts and reinforced DoorDash’s commitment to fighting food insecurity while learning from and collaborating with impactful local organizations like the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

In addition, Liz and Tia joined Dashers on deliveries to bring groceries directly to neighbors in San Francisco who otherwise would not have been able to access a food bank distribution.
