Tractor Supply Expands Support for America’s Fairs, Backing More Than 1,000 Events in 2026

State and county fairs across the United States are often associated with carnival rides, food vendors, entertainment and family activities. Yet beneath the excitement is a longstanding agricultural tradition that continues to connect communities with farming, livestock, rural life and the people who help produce the nation’s food.

For generations, fairs have provided a place for young people to showcase livestock, families to pass agricultural knowledge from one generation to the next, and communities to celebrate the skills and dedication that support rural economies. In 2026, Tractor Supply Company is expanding its role in that tradition by supporting more than 1,000 state and county fairs across the country.

The initiative represents the company’s largest commitment to state and county fairs to date. Through sponsorships, agricultural education programs, youth livestock activities, 4-H and FFA initiatives, community events and other forms of support, Tractor Supply is increasing its involvement in fairs that bring agriculture and local communities together.

“State and county fairs are part of Life Out Here. They bring together family, community, hard work, and agriculture — things that matter deeply to Tractor Supply,” said Neil Tenzer, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Pet Health at Tractor Supply. “From young people showing livestock through 4-H and FFA to families carrying on traditions for generations, fairs celebrate agriculture today while helping inspire the next generation. We’re proud to be part of that.”

Preserving America’s Agricultural Fair Tradition

State and county fairs have long served as important gathering places for agricultural communities. More than 2,000 fairs are held throughout the United States each year, creating opportunities for farmers, ranchers, families, young people and local businesses to participate in events that showcase agriculture and community life.

Livestock competitions remain one of the most visible elements of many fairs. Young participants spend months caring for animals, preparing them for competition and learning about animal husbandry. Other exhibits highlight horticulture, food production, crafts, machinery and agricultural innovation.

Although modern fairs have expanded to include a broad range of entertainment and attractions, agriculture remains an important part of their identity. Exhibitions and competitions provide an opportunity for communities to learn more about where food comes from and the work involved in producing it.

“We are thankful for Tractor Supply’s continued investment in agricultural fairs and the important platform these fairs provide in giving young people the opportunity to show livestock and helping us educate the public about agriculture and where their food comes from,” said North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler.

Tractor Supply estimates that it participates in approximately 75% of the nation’s state and county fairs. Its involvement reflects a broader effort to remain connected to the communities where its stores, customers and Team Members live and work.

Each fair has its own character and traditions, but many share common goals: bringing residents together, providing educational opportunities for young people and maintaining connections to agriculture.

“There is something special about walking through a fair and seeing a young person showing an animal they have spent months raising, or a family returning year after year to a tradition that has been part of their lives for generations,” Tenzer said.

He added that Tractor Supply views its fair involvement as a way to support the traditions that connect communities to agriculture while encouraging young people who may become future farmers, ranchers and rural community leaders.

Investing in Young People Through 4-H and FFA

For participants in 4-H and FFA, fairs often represent the culmination of months of preparation. Their experiences extend well beyond the show ring.

Young people involved in livestock projects may begin their preparations months before a fair. They are responsible for feeding and caring for animals, maintaining records, preparing exhibits and learning how to present their projects. These activities can provide practical lessons in responsibility, patience, planning and perseverance.

The experiences gained at fairs can also help participants explore potential careers in agriculture, skilled trades and other fields.

“When a young person walks into the show ring, you are seeing the result of months of commitment, care and hard work,” said Molly Ball, National FFA Foundation President. “Whether they leave with a ribbon or simply knowing they gave it their best, they leave with something even more valuable—confidence, responsibility and an understanding of what it means to see something through.”

Tractor Supply has supported the National FFA Organization since 1985. During that time, the company has contributed more than $24 million toward education and scholarship programs.

One of its initiatives is the Future Leaders Scholarship, which Tractor Supply launched in 2022 through a $5 million, five-year commitment. The program is designed to help FFA members pursue higher education and skilled-trade opportunities.

The company has also supported 4-H since 2010, raising more than $27 million to help young people develop leadership abilities, explore career opportunities and prepare for their futures.

“Fairs are such an important part of the 4-H experience because they bring together so much of what young people learn throughout the year to help prepare them for their future careers—whether it be in agriculture, skilled trades or other pathways,” said Heather Elliott, Chief Development and Marketing Officer at National 4-H Council.

According to Elliott, fair experiences allow 4-H participants to apply their skills in practical settings, work alongside their peers and develop an understanding of perseverance and responsibility.

Tractor Supply’s support of fairs therefore complements its broader investments in youth agricultural organizations. By helping create opportunities for young people to participate, compete and learn, the company is supporting programs that connect education with real-world experiences.

Fairs Contribute to Local Communities

The importance of state and county fairs extends beyond agriculture and youth programs. Many fairs also generate significant economic activity for their surrounding communities.

The size of fairs varies considerably. Some attract fewer than 25,000 visitors, while the largest events can welcome more than 1 million people. Their schedules also range from several days to nearly a month.

The State Fair of West Virginia, for example, recorded more than 200,000 visitors in 2025 and was associated with an estimated $16.9 million in statewide economic impact.

The Washington State Fair attracts more than 900,000 visitors and generates nearly $400 million in annual business revenue, according to regional economic development information.

Large fairs can support employment, attract visitors from outside the immediate region and provide opportunities for local businesses and vendors. Revenue generated through fair activities can also help fund scholarships, grants and community programs.

Tractor Supply’s participation is closely connected to this community impact. Its stores and Team Members frequently participate in local events and initiatives, making fair sponsorships another avenue for the company to engage with the communities it serves.

Tractor Supply Expands Its Fair Presence in 2026

Tractor Supply has supported state and county fairs for years through local sponsorships, product donations, in-store activities and other forms of engagement. In 2026, the company is increasing that commitment by supporting more than 1,000 fairs nationwide.

The company is also expanding its presence at 18 state and regional events, creating opportunities for visitors to participate in agricultural education and community activities.

Williamson County Fair

The Williamson County Fair, held August 7–15, is located near Tractor Supply’s headquarters and provides an important opportunity for the company to engage with its local community.

During the event, Tractor Supply hosted its AgVenture Village along with activities including a Chick Hatchery, an Ice Cream Social and America 250-themed programming.

The activities were designed to provide visitors with opportunities to learn, participate and experience agricultural traditions in an interactive environment.

Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair runs September 4–27 and dates back to 1900. It is among the largest fairs in the United States.

In 2026, Tractor Supply is sponsoring the Tractor Supply Arena at Agriplex, the Fair Farm and agricultural education programming. The company is also participating through an integrated partnership with the Puyallup Rodeo, which takes place during the fair.

The company’s involvement provides another avenue for connecting fair visitors with agriculture while supporting one of the region’s major annual community events.

North Carolina State Fair

Tractor Supply has supported the North Carolina State Fair since 2014 and continues its involvement in several agricultural and youth-focused programs.

The company sponsors the Farm Family of the Day program, 4-H and FFA Competitive Exhibits and the Junior Livestock Sale of Champions, among other activities.

The North Carolina State Fair has also demonstrated the scale of public interest in agricultural events. Since 1990, attendance has surpassed 1 million visitors on five occasions.

Supporting Agriculture for Future Generations

Tractor Supply’s expanded fair commitment comes as agricultural communities continue to use fairs as a way to connect generations and introduce the public to farming and rural traditions.

For young people, participating in a fair can provide practical experiences that complement classroom learning. For families, fairs offer opportunities to maintain traditions and spend time together. For agricultural organizations, they provide a platform to educate visitors about farming, livestock and food production.

For local communities, fairs can contribute to tourism, business activity and civic engagement.

By supporting more than 1,000 fairs in 2026, Tractor Supply is extending its long-running involvement in these events while continuing its support for organizations such as 4-H and FFA.

The company’s approach combines financial support, event sponsorships, educational activities and youth programming. Together, these efforts are intended to help preserve the agricultural elements of fairs while ensuring younger generations have opportunities to participate.

As fairs continue to evolve, their agricultural foundation remains an important part of their identity. Livestock shows, educational exhibits, youth competitions and family traditions continue to create connections between communities and agriculture.

For Tractor Supply, supporting these events provides an opportunity to participate directly in those traditions and contribute to the communities where the company operates.

The company’s 2026 commitment highlights the continuing role state and county fairs play in bringing agriculture, education, family and community together—and in creating experiences that can remain with young people long after the fairgrounds close.
