Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Honors Warehouse Employees and Truck Drivers with Appreciation Weeks

Southern Glazer’s, the leading distributor of beverage alcohol, is honoring National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, which runs from September 16-20, 2024, as established by the American Trucking Associations. Alongside its professional drivers, Southern Glazer’s also celebrated Warehouse Employee Appreciation Week from August 12-16, 2024, a week dedicated to recognizing its warehouse staff. These essential workers manage 15 million square feet of warehouse space and enable 7.1 million customer deliveries annually.

“Our professional drivers and warehouse employees are at the heart of Southern Glazer’s, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction,” said Bobby Burg, Senior Vice President, Operations & Chief Supply Chain Officer at Southern Glazer’s. “Their dedication and expertise are key to our success. These celebrations are our way of expressing gratitude, not just during these special weeks, but every day.”

During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Southern Glazer’s is highlighting its drivers, who ensure safe, secure, and timely deliveries while maintaining highway safety. The company will show its appreciation by gifting drivers polo shirts and hats, hosting catered meals, and organizing raffles and other activities throughout the week.

Warehouse employees were honored during the summer with food trucks, music, gifts, and more. Southern Glazer’s acknowledges their essential role in delivering premium wines and spirits to customers daily.

“Our drivers and warehouse staff are exceptional professionals, bringing energy and expertise to their roles,” said Ron Flanary, Senior Vice President of National Operations. “Their hard work is the foundation of our company’s success, and it’s an honor to celebrate their contributions.”

Southern Glazer’s commitment to safety is reinforced through various programs for drivers and warehouse staff. The Elite Safe Driver Recognition Program rewards drivers with five consecutive years of collision-free driving, offering gold rings adorned with diamonds and monetary bonuses.

“Safety is not just a priority, it’s a core value that our drivers and warehouse teams embody daily,” said Kay Yoder, Senior Vice President of Environmental, Health, Safety, Business Continuity & Sustainability at Southern Glazer’s. “We’re proud to recognize their commitment to safety and excellence.”
