Pachamama Coffee, a globally recognized farmer-owned company, has announced a partnership with UC Davis to serve its premium organic coffee at two ASUCD-run Coffee Houses (CoHos) on the university campus in Davis and across UC Davis Health in Sacramento. This collaboration brings together Pachamama’s commitment to sustainability with UC Davis’ leadership in environmental stewardship and farm-to-fork initiatives.
Owned and governed entirely by smallholder farmers from Latin America and Africa, Pachamama empowers growers to maintain control over their product from seed to cup. This unique model ensures top-quality coffee while returning all profits to the farmers. By choosing Pachamama Coffee, UC Davis students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors support a company that values both farmers’ livelihoods and environmental sustainability.
“We are thrilled to partner with UC Davis and, for the first time, directly connect a North American university with global coffee growers,” said Thaleon Tremain, Co-Founder & CEO of Pachamama Coffee. “Pachamama was born in Davis, where we launched the country’s first farmer-owned coffee brand out of a garage. It’s an honor to serve our coffee to a community that shares our vision of empowering smallholder farmers and promoting regenerative farming practices.”
This partnership strengthens UC Davis’ mission as a sustainability leader. By offering single-origin, organic coffee directly from farmers, Pachamama supports the university’s commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact, and community well-being, while highlighting Pachamama’s role in creating a more equitable and sustainable food system.
