Limoneira Company (Nasdaq: LMNR), a diversified agribusiness specializing in lemon and avocado cultivation, lemon packing, related agricultural operations, and real estate development, has announced the appointment of Ryan Young as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. The appointment will become effective on November 9, 2026, bringing an experienced fresh produce and food production executive into a senior leadership position at the company.
In his new role, Young will report directly to Limoneira President and Chief Executive Officer Harold Edwards. He will oversee and coordinate the company’s farming and packing operations, technology initiatives, organic recycling activities, and residential and commercial real estate rental operations. His responsibilities will include supporting operational execution across Limoneira’s diversified business activities while helping the company advance its strategic priorities in agriculture and real estate.
Young joins Limoneira with more than 25 years of experience managing operations in the fresh produce and food production industries. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in overseeing large-scale production facilities, coordinating multi-site operations, managing workforces, and supporting the operational requirements of businesses serving fresh food markets.
His experience across packing, warehousing, distribution, plant operations, food safety, and quality systems is expected to support Limoneira as the company continues to strengthen its operating capabilities and pursue opportunities across its core business platforms.
Ryan Young Brings Extensive Fresh Produce Operations Experience
Before joining Limoneira, Young served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Sun Pacific Shippers LP, where he began working in 2023. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing eight packing, warehouse, and distribution facilities located in California’s San Joaquin Valley. His responsibilities extended across operations employing more than 2,000 people, giving him substantial experience coordinating complex facilities and managing large teams within the fresh produce supply chain.
His work at Sun Pacific provided direct exposure to the operational demands associated with fresh produce packing and distribution. Managing multiple facilities requires coordination across production schedules, workforce planning, quality management, and distribution activities. Young’s experience in these areas aligns with Limoneira’s requirements as it continues to manage its agricultural production and packing operations.
Prior to his role at Sun Pacific, Young spent 15 years at Grimmway Enterprises, where he advanced through several leadership positions. He began as Organic Fresh Manager and ultimately progressed to Senior Vice President of Plant Operations.
As Senior Vice President of Plant Operations at Grimmway, Young held enterprise-wide operating responsibility across five business divisions and nine production facilities. He also served as a member of the company’s executive leadership team, contributing operational expertise at a senior management level.
His responsibilities at Grimmway provided experience in coordinating operations across multiple business units and production sites. This background is particularly relevant to Limoneira, which operates across several related agricultural activities while maintaining a real estate development and rental business.
Earlier in his career, Young held production, warehouse, and plant management positions at Wm. Bolthouse Farms Inc. These roles helped establish his foundation in food production and operational management before he moved into senior executive positions.
Together, his experience at Wm. Bolthouse Farms, Grimmway Enterprises, and Sun Pacific Shippers demonstrates a career spanning frontline production management, facility leadership, and enterprise-level operational oversight.

Education and Industry Leadership
Young holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis. His academic background combines agricultural knowledge with business and management principles, providing a foundation for overseeing operations within an agricultural enterprise.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Young serves on the board of directors of California Citrus Mutual and the California Kiwifruit Administrative Committee. These positions reflect his involvement in organizations connected to California’s agricultural industry and provide additional insight into the sector’s operating environment.
His industry experience and leadership responsibilities come at a time when agricultural businesses must balance production requirements, supply chain coordination, quality standards, and changing market conditions. For Limoneira, Young’s understanding of fresh produce operations could help support the company’s efforts to improve execution and coordinate its activities across the agricultural value chain.
Limoneira Focuses on Operational Priorities and Capital Deployment
Commenting on the appointment, Harold Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer of Limoneira, highlighted Young’s experience in managing large-scale fresh produce operations and the value that expertise could bring to the organization.
“Ryan has spent his career running large, multi-site fresh produce operations, from packing and distribution to food safety and quality systems. That depth of operating experience will serve Limoneira well, and I look forward to working with him as we advance the Company’s operating priorities of redeploying capital into higher-return opportunities across our core agribusiness and real estate platforms,” Edwards stated.
The appointment reflects Limoneira’s focus on strengthening operational leadership while advancing its broader business priorities. Young’s experience overseeing multiple facilities and business divisions is expected to support coordination across the company’s farming, packing, technology, organic recycling, and property rental activities.
Edwards also emphasized the company’s intention to redeploy capital into opportunities that can generate higher returns across its core agribusiness and real estate platforms. This priority connects operational management with the company’s wider approach to allocating resources and developing its business portfolio.
Limoneira’s combination of agricultural operations and real estate activities gives the chief operating officer a broad remit. Effective coordination across these areas will be important as the company evaluates operating performance, manages resources, and pursues its strategic objectives.
Young’s background in production and distribution environments may also help the company maintain a focus on operational efficiency, food safety, product quality, and execution across its fresh produce activities.
Supporting Growth in Lemons and Avocados
Limoneira has established its business around lemon production and packing, alongside avocado cultivation and related agribusiness activities. The company also operates in residential and commercial real estate development and rentals, making operational oversight across multiple business areas an important part of its management structure.
In his statement, Young recognized Limoneira’s longstanding reputation in citrus and expressed confidence in the company’s position in both lemons and avocados.
“Limoneira has built a trusted name through generations of excellence in citrus, and the company is well positioned to grow its avocado business while continuing to strengthen its leadership in lemons through its strategic partnership with Sunkist. I am honored to join the team and look forward to working closely with colleagues across the organization to drive operational execution as we serve our customers across both categories,” Young stated.
His comments underscore the importance of maintaining Limoneira’s established position in the lemon business while pursuing opportunities to expand its avocado operations. The company’s strategic partnership with Sunkist also remains an important element of its approach to strengthening its position in lemons.
As chief operating officer, Young will work with colleagues across the organization to support the execution of operational priorities in both product categories. His experience in fresh produce operations could be particularly relevant to coordinating production, packing, quality management, and distribution activities that support customer requirements.
The appointment also brings together Young’s operational background and Limoneira’s objective of advancing its agricultural and real estate platforms. His responsibilities will extend beyond farming and packing to include technology, organic recycling, and rental operations, reflecting the breadth of the company’s business activities.
A New Leadership Chapter for Limoneira
Young’s appointment as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer marks a new step in Limoneira’s leadership structure. With more than two decades of experience in fresh produce and food production, he brings a combination of facility-level knowledge, multi-site management experience, and executive leadership expertise to the position.
His previous roles involved overseeing thousands of employees, managing multiple production facilities, and coordinating operations across different business divisions. These experiences provide a foundation for supporting Limoneira’s operational requirements as the company continues to develop its core agricultural businesses and real estate activities.
Effective November 9, 2026, Young will assume responsibility for coordinating several of Limoneira’s key operating functions while reporting to Edwards. His appointment comes as the company focuses on operational execution, capital deployment, and opportunities to strengthen its position in lemons and avocados.
Through this leadership addition, Limoneira aims to bring extensive fresh produce operating experience to its senior management team while continuing to build on its established presence in citrus and its plans for avocado growth.
