The AGCO Agriculture Foundation (the “Foundation”), a private entity focused on preventing and alleviating hunger through sustainable agricultural practices, has opened its grant program for applications. This Call for Applications for Grants (CAG) emphasizes funding projects aimed at empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders to create innovative solutions for agri-food systems.
Nonprofit organizations legally recognized as charitable entities are invited to submit proposals for grants ranging between $400,000 and $450,000, distributed over a three-year project period. “To sustain food systems, we must encourage younger innovators to engage in agriculture,” said Roger Batkin, Chair of the Foundation’s Board. “Partnering with nonprofits to develop youth-centered agri-tech programs, we aim to support and educate future leaders who can create solutions for regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, and technological innovations across agricultural ecosystems.”
Aligned with AGCO’s commitment to providing farmer-focused, sustainable solutions and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Foundation recognizes the critical role of youth in reshaping agri-food systems. The agri-food sector presents significant opportunities for improving youth employment and livelihoods.
In partnership with Benevity, the Foundation’s grant application portal will be open from October 1 to November 29, 2024.
Eligible nonprofits should focus their proposals on young innovators, farmers, and small and medium-sized enterprises working to enhance agri-food systems for younger generations. Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly review the materials for CAG 2024 before submitting.
