Bel Group, Dassault Systèmes Partner to Advance Sustainable Food Industry Transition

Bel Group and Dassault Systèmes have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the transformation of the food industry towards sustainability. This collaboration seeks to revolutionize the entire food production value chain using artificial intelligence, from initial product conception through manufacturing to market launch.

The global challenge of sustainably feeding a projected population of 10 billion by 2050 has underscored the necessity for innovative food technologies. Bel Group plans to leverage Dassault Systèmes’ “Perfect Production” industry solution, built on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, across its 11 global manufacturing facilities. This deployment focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability through advanced manufacturing operations management (MOM), food and materials sciences, AI, and product lifecycle management (PLM).

Through MOM, Bel Group aims to digitize its manufacturing processes, empowering its workforce to respond swiftly to market demands while optimizing raw material consumption and inventory levels. This initiative is set to enable sustainable production practices and ensure consistent product quality regardless of location.

The integration of AI will enable Bel Group to dynamically adapt to consumer preferences and drive innovation in sustainable development. By analyzing vast datasets and employing machine learning, the company seeks to accelerate product development timelines, optimize formulations, and enhance product performance, thereby reducing time-to-market.

Additionally, the adoption of PLM will create a unified collaborative environment, facilitating seamless information flow from product ideation to market release. This integrated approach promises to streamline decision-making processes and foster cross-functional collaboration.

Cécile Béliot, CEO of Bel Group, emphasized the partnership’s role in pioneering new solutions for the future of food through augmented R&D with AI. Bernard Charlès, Executive Chairman of Dassault Systèmes, echoed this sentiment, highlighting their joint commitment to advancing healthier and sustainable food choices. He underscored the transformative potential of their scientific and technological capabilities in driving innovation and establishing Bel Group as a leader in food technology.

Together, Bel Group and Dassault Systèmes aspire to redefine the food industry landscape by leveraging virtual modeling, simulation, and generative AI to create novel connections between health, nutrition, and sustainability. Their collaborative efforts aim to address the evolving needs of consumers while setting new benchmarks in food technology and sustainability practices.
