DoorDash and Costco Expand Partnership Across the U.S.

Costco Wholesale Corporation and DoorDash have expanded their global partnership with the launch of Costco on the DoorDash Marketplace across the United States. The new collaboration gives Costco members another convenient way to shop for groceries, household essentials, pantry staples, electronics, seasonal products and other merchandise through same-day delivery.

The U.S. launch represents a significant step in the relationship between the two companies, extending a partnership that already serves Costco customers in several international markets. DoorDash and Costco currently have a presence together in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Puerto Rico.

With the nationwide rollout, Costco members can access the retailer’s broad product assortment through the DoorDash app and have purchases delivered from their local Costco warehouse. The service is designed to provide greater flexibility for shoppers who want the selection and value associated with Costco while also benefiting from the convenience of on-demand local delivery.

Meeting Growing Consumer Demand

Costco has been one of the most frequently searched retailers that had not previously been available on DoorDash, highlighting consumer interest in accessing the warehouse retailer through the delivery platform.

The new U.S. availability responds to that demand by bringing Costco’s assortment directly into DoorDash’s local commerce marketplace. Customers can now browse thousands of products available from participating Costco warehouses and place orders for delivery without making a separate trip to the store.

The assortment available through DoorDash includes groceries, pantry staples, household supplies, electronics, seasonal merchandise and products from Costco’s popular Kirkland Signature brand. More than 4,000 products are available for customers to shop through the marketplace.

The service also builds on DoorDash’s existing network of local delivery capabilities, giving Costco members an additional option for obtaining everyday necessities and other products.

“Costco members have been asking for Costco on DoorDash, and today we’re delivering,” said Mike Goldblatt, Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at DoorDash.

Goldblatt said the partnership combines Costco’s quality, value and product selection with DoorDash’s reach and local delivery network. He added that the U.S. rollout represents another stage in the companies’ broader international relationship.

Accessing Costco Through DoorDash

Costco members can access the service directly through the DoorDash app. To begin shopping, members can search for Costco and select their preferred local warehouse.

Once the Costco storefront is selected, customers can browse an assortment of more than 4,000 products. The available selection allows shoppers to purchase products across several major categories, including food, household goods and other merchandise typically found at Costco warehouses.

During the ordering process, customers can link an active Costco membership to their DoorDash account when prompted. This connection allows eligible Costco members to shop through the platform while maintaining the relationship between their Costco membership and their DoorDash order.

Consumers who are not currently Costco members can also participate in the process. DoorDash provides a link directing non-members to Costco.com, where they can purchase a Costco membership. After completing the membership process, customers can return to DoorDash and connect their new Costco account before placing an order.

The streamlined process is intended to make it easier for existing members and new customers to access Costco’s products through DoorDash.

Expanding DoorDash’s Retail Network

The Costco launch also strengthens DoorDash’s position in the North American food and retail sector. With Costco joining its platform, DoorDash now partners with eight of the 10 largest food retailers in North America, according to Progressive Grocer’s PG 100 ranking.

The expansion reflects the broader development of online grocery and retail delivery. Consumers increasingly expect retailers to provide multiple purchasing and fulfillment options, including traditional in-store shopping, online ordering, pickup and home delivery.

For retailers with large physical store networks, delivery marketplaces can provide another channel through which customers can access products. For delivery platforms, partnerships with major retailers can expand the range of products available to consumers and increase the usefulness of their marketplaces.

Costco’s extensive warehouse footprint and broad merchandise assortment make the partnership particularly relevant to shoppers looking for both grocery and non-grocery products through a single delivery platform.

Bringing Costco’s Assortment Closer to Customers

Costco operates a warehouse membership model centered on offering a wide range of products at competitive prices. Its stores carry food and beverages alongside household products, consumer electronics, seasonal merchandise and other categories.

Making this assortment available through DoorDash gives members an alternative to visiting a warehouse for certain shopping needs. Customers may use the delivery service when they need household essentials, want to replenish pantry supplies or prefer to have products delivered directly to their homes.

The same-day delivery option can also provide additional convenience for shoppers managing busy schedules or those looking for an alternative to an in-person warehouse visit.

At the same time, the service does not replace Costco’s existing warehouse and digital shopping channels. Instead, DoorDash adds another purchasing and fulfillment option to the retailer’s broader customer experience.

Building on an International Partnership

The U.S. launch follows the expansion of the Costco-DoorDash relationship into multiple markets around the world. The two companies already work together in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Puerto Rico.

The international footprint provides a foundation for the companies’ latest expansion in the United States. The nationwide U.S. launch extends the partnership into one of Costco’s largest markets and brings the collaboration to a substantially broader customer base.

For DoorDash, the partnership also supports its strategy of expanding beyond restaurant delivery into a wider local commerce ecosystem. The company’s marketplace includes food, groceries, retail products and other goods, allowing consumers to use the platform for a growing range of everyday purchases.

For Costco members, the addition of DoorDash creates another way to access products from local Costco warehouses. The combination of Costco’s merchandise selection and DoorDash’s delivery infrastructure provides flexibility for consumers who prefer home delivery.

A New Shopping Option for Costco Members

The nationwide launch gives Costco members another way to shop while maintaining access to many of the products they regularly purchase from the retailer. With more than 4,000 products available through the DoorDash Marketplace, customers can browse categories ranging from groceries and pantry essentials to household products, electronics and seasonal merchandise.

The introduction of Costco also expands the range of major retailers available on DoorDash and reinforces the platform’s growing presence in grocery and retail delivery.

As consumer shopping habits continue to evolve, partnerships between large retailers and delivery platforms are creating additional ways for customers to receive everyday products. Costco’s U.S. launch on DoorDash represents the latest development in that trend and builds on a global relationship that is already active across several international markets.

For Costco members across the United States, the partnership means that products from their local Costco warehouse can now be ordered through DoorDash for same-day delivery, adding convenience and flexibility to the way they shop.
