Sodexo Partners with Adani for an Innovative Skill Development Initiative

Unlocking the Potential: Sodexo and Adani Spearhead Empowerment through Skill Development

Recognizing the transformative power of skills, Sodexo and Adani have united to drive meaningful change through an ambitious skill development program. This collaborative effort is rooted in a shared commitment to corporate responsibility, envisioning a sustainable, hunger-free world where youths are equipped with the skills to enhance their quality of life.

The program’s core objective is to provide skill training and employment opportunities for youths in remote areas. At its inauguration, both entities’ Corporate Responsibility wings unveiled the pilot project in Mundra and Bhuj, targeting over 150 youths.

Drawing on Sodexo’s expertise, the training initiative encompasses curriculum development, coaching, on-the-job training, and certification. Simultaneously, the Adani Skill Development Centre plays a pivotal role in youth recruitment and infrastructure support. An intensive eight-week program has been tailored for profiles in Food & Beverage (F&B), Cleaning Services, and General Duty Assistance (GDA). Participants will undergo training aligned with NSDC NSQF level 3 standards, supplemented by Sodexo modules. Crucially, a four-week on-the-job training component ensures participants are job-ready, with the assurance of employment at Sodexo sites nationwide or relevant industry players.

Driven by a commitment to inclusive growth, both organizations aim to bridge industry skill gaps and foster sustainable livelihoods. The initiative targets the recruitment of 7,000 youths, with a quarter representing women, annually. Sodexo’s train-the-trainer approach aims to reach 166 candidates initially, while Adani seeks to upskill over 500 youths by 2024.

This transformative endeavor embodies a shared dedication to nurturing talent and creating positive social change. The success of the pilot program in Mundra and Bhuj sets the stage for future expansion into tier II, tier III cities, and remote areas. Since their collaboration in 2008, Adani and Sodexo have worked closely on various community development initiatives, including women empowerment and hunger eradication. This latest initiative reaffirms their enduring partnership and commitment to holistic community development.
