The Fresh Market Exceeds Fundraising Goal for Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month

For the second consecutive year, The Fresh Market, Inc. and celebrity chef, author, and television personality Carla Hall have joined forces to support Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, bringing greater attention to Alzheimer’s disease while raising funds for research, education, and support services. Their latest campaign has once again demonstrated how a combination of food, community engagement, and charitable giving can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families affected by dementia.

Throughout June, The Fresh Market partnered with Carla Hall to encourage customers to participate in a fundraising initiative benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association®. The campaign centered on Carla Hall’s With Love Market Meal Kits & Sides, giving shoppers an opportunity to enjoy products inspired by the chef while supporting an important cause.

As part of the initiative, The Fresh Market donated 10% of the purchase price of qualifying Carla Hall’s With Love Market Meal Kits & Sides sold during the month. In addition to the product-based contribution, customers were invited to make an additional donation by rounding up their purchase total at checkout. The combination of these efforts resulted in a total contribution of $94,236.42 to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The funds will help support the organization’s efforts to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, provide resources for people living with dementia and their caregivers, and advance research aimed at finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure.

John Koulouris, vice president of operations at The Fresh Market, highlighted the importance of the partnership and thanked customers for helping the campaign exceed its fundraising expectations.

“Our continued partnership with Carla Hall and the Alzheimer’s Association reflects our shared commitment to raising awareness and funding for Alzheimer’s research,” Koulouris said. “We are deeply grateful to our guests whose generosity not only supported this important cause but helped us surpass our fundraising goals.”

The campaign illustrates the growing role that retailers and food brands can play in supporting community causes. By connecting charitable giving with everyday grocery shopping, The Fresh Market created a simple way for customers to participate while purchasing meals and sides designed for convenient home preparation.

The Alzheimer’s Association also expressed appreciation for the collaboration. Wendy Vizek, senior vice president of Community Engagement & Field Operations for the organization, said partnerships such as the one involving The Fresh Market and Carla Hall can help strengthen efforts across several areas of the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

“We’re grateful to The Fresh Market and Carla Hall for their commitment to the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia,” Vizek said. “Alzheimer’s affects millions of individuals and families every day, and corporate partnerships like this help advance critical research, provide care and support, and raise awareness of the urgent need to end this disease. Together, we can inspire more people to join the movement and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.”

For Carla Hall, the campaign carries a particularly personal significance. Known for her appearances on Bravo, Food Network, and ABC, Hall has become a familiar figure in the culinary and television industries. Beyond her career in food and entertainment, she has also been a longtime supporter and advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Hall’s connection to the cause stems from her family’s experience with Alzheimer’s disease. Her grandmother lived with the disease, giving Hall a personal understanding of the challenges that Alzheimer’s can create for individuals, relatives, and caregivers. That experience has helped motivate her continued advocacy and involvement in efforts designed to increase awareness and support research.

Reflecting on the success of this year’s campaign, Hall thanked customers and supporters who contributed to the initiative.

“I am so grateful to everyone who cooked, cared, and made this campaign such an incredible success,” Hall said. “Thank you for making every meal matter.”

The campaign comes at a time when the impact of Alzheimer’s disease continues to grow across the United States. According to the Alzheimer’s Association’s 2026 Facts and Figures report, more than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. The condition also affects a much wider circle of people, with more than half of Americans estimated to know someone living with the disease.

The burden extends to millions of caregivers as well. Nearly 13 million family members and friends provide unpaid care for people living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. These caregivers frequently take on significant responsibilities, including assisting with daily activities, coordinating medical care, providing emotional support, and helping manage household needs.

The growing number of people affected by Alzheimer’s underscores the importance of continued investment in research, education, caregiver resources, and community programs. Organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association rely on contributions and partnerships to support these efforts and advance research into potential treatments and prevention strategies.

For The Fresh Market, the fundraising campaign also reinforces its broader commitment to community involvement. The company’s collaboration with Hall provides a way to bring its customers into a cause that affects millions of families while connecting charitable giving with the company’s food-focused retail experience.

The success of the 2026 campaign demonstrates the potential impact of combining corporate contributions, celebrity advocacy, customer participation, and charitable organizations. By donating a portion of product sales and giving shoppers the opportunity to round up their purchases, the campaign provided multiple avenues for customers to contribute.

Surpassing the fundraising goal with a donation of $94,236.42 marks another successful year for the partnership. More importantly, the initiative helped keep Alzheimer’s disease and the need for greater awareness, caregiver support, and scientific research at the forefront during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month.

As Alzheimer’s continues to affect millions of Americans directly and indirectly, collaborations such as The Fresh Market’s campaign with Carla Hall and the Alzheimer’s Association demonstrate how businesses, public figures, nonprofit organizations, and consumers can work together to support meaningful change. Through every meal purchased, every checkout donation, and every conversation sparked by the campaign, the partners helped advance the message that collective action can contribute to a future with better care, greater understanding, and eventually a world without Alzheimer’s disease.
