2024 Intl Horticulture Event Goyang, Korea, April 26th, Ilsan Lake Park

The Goyang International Flower Foundation, headed by Chairman Lee Dong Hwan, alongside the Mayor of Goyang Special City, is gearing up to host the prestigious 2024 International Horticulture Goyang Korea event. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, the festival will span 17 days from April 26 to May 12, 2024.

This horticultural extravaganza stands as a pinnacle in Korea’s festival calendar, boasting participation from 30 countries, 50 cities, and approximately 200 institutes and organizations from around the globe.

Under the overarching theme of “Flower in the Earth,” this year’s festival aims to showcase the sustainable interplay between flowers and nature’s bounty, fostering a sense of joyous living amidst breathtaking natural landscapes. The exhibition area will sprawl across an expanded 240,000 m2, offering visitors a feast for the senses with the serene vista of the lake park, eco-conscious gardens, and a diverse array of outdoor displays.

Leveraging its ties with the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), the foundation has meticulously crafted the event, delineating the Horticulture Exhibition Hall into two distinct segments: the Horticulture Exchange Hall and the Horticulture Industry Hall.

The Horticulture Exchange Hall will serve as a platform for national institutions, foreign horticultural agencies, and allied organizations to showcase a plethora of rare and exotic plant species, both indigenous and international.

Meanwhile, the Horticulture Industry Hall will spotlight the creative endeavors of Korean garden artists, alongside contributions from horticultural producers and distribution technology firms from home and abroad. Additionally, the International Horticulture Goyang Korea will play host to various events, including flower demonstrations by esteemed garden artists and the International Goyang Flower Forum.

Chairman Lee Dong Hwan emphasized, “This event encapsulates the rich tapestry of the global horticulture industry, featuring world-class floral artistry, eco-conscious gardening techniques, and therapeutic pursuits. It is a testament to the synergy between local farmers and the citizens of Goyang, offering visitors an opportunity to revel in the beauty of the lake park and the vibrant flora.”

He further stated, “Goyang City is committed to positioning the Goyang International Flower Fair as a trailblazer in the floral convergence industry, merging the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector with Hallyu content. We strive to lead the Korean flower industry from the forefront while providing steadfast support from behind.”

The exhibition promises a cornucopia of attractions, including the World Artist Garden, featuring collaborations with renowned global artists, Korea’s largest flower-themed sculpture, and avant-garde artworks adorned with horticultural embellishments. Noteworthy contributions include exquisite gardening pieces by Ji Hae Hwang, a laureate of the Chelsea Flower Show, alongside creations from eminent garden designers like Paul Hervey-Brookes (U.K.) and Leon Kluge (South Africa).

Early birds can avail of up to 33% discount on onsite ticket prices by securing their tickets before April 19, 2024. For further details on ticketing, group reservations, and exhibition specifics, please visit the Flower Foundation homepage at Flower.or.kr.
