6th-Generation Valtra T Series Combines Powerful Performance with an Enhanced User Experience

AGCO’s Finnish tractor brand Valtra has unveiled the 6th-generation Valtra T Series, introducing a comprehensive package of performance, operator-focused technology, connectivity and customisation designed for professional farmers, agricultural contractors and other demanding users.

The new T Series represents a major redesign of Valtra’s established tractor platform, combining a new powertrain with advanced automation, an updated operator interface and integrated digital farming capabilities. The range covers power outputs from 170 hp to 245 hp and is designed to support a wide variety of applications, including arable farming, livestock production, contracting, forestry and municipal operations.

At the centre of the new generation is the AGCO Power CORE75 engine, supported by new transmission options and an expanded suite of intelligent control functions. Valtra has also introduced its SmartTouch Gen2 operator interface, which brings greater processing power, configurable displays, personalised profiles and integrated implement-management functions into the tractor cab.

According to Valtra, the overall development philosophy behind the new T Series is centred on making tractor operation simpler and more intuitive. By bringing tractor controls, implements, guidance systems and farm-management workflows together, the company aims to reduce repetitive adjustments and allow operators to concentrate more closely on the task at hand.

New Powertrain Focuses on Performance and Efficiency

The 6th-generation T Series is powered by the new 7.5-litre, six-cylinder AGCO Power CORE75 engine. In the T236 model, the engine produces up to 245 hp and 1,184 Nm of torque, providing substantial pulling capability for demanding agricultural applications.

One of the key technologies supporting the new engine is Smart Power Management. The system automatically adjusts engine and transmission behaviour according to operating conditions and the selected driving strategy. This is intended to balance performance with fuel efficiency while reducing the amount of manual adjustment required from the operator.

Valtra says AGCO Power laboratory testing indicates that the new CORE75 engine can achieve up to 5% lower best-point specific fuel consumption (SFC) compared with the previous AGCO Power 74HD engine. Independent validation testing is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Operators can select from Eco, Normal and Power operating modes, allowing tractor performance to be matched to different applications and working conditions. The engine’s low-rpm torque characteristics are also designed to maintain performance as loads change in the field.

For transmission choice, customers can specify either the AGCO ML 180 continuously variable transmission (CVT) or a new 10-step powershift transmission. Depending on specification and local requirements, the tractor can achieve transport speeds of up to 57 km/h.

The T Series also combines a 2,950 mm wheelbase, ground clearance of up to 575 mm and a turning radius of approximately 4.9 metres. These characteristics are intended to provide a balance between stability, manoeuvrability and transport capability.

SmartTouch Gen2 Brings More Control to the Cab

A major element of the new tractor generation is the introduction of the SmartTouch Gen2 operating system.

The updated interface features a 12-inch high-resolution touchscreen and increased processing power, which Valtra says is approximately 10 times greater than the previous system. The display can be configured for individual preferences, with operators able to create work screens containing up to 16 different quadrants.

Personalised operator and task profiles allow settings to be configured for different drivers, implements and jobs. Up to 12 configurable buttons provide additional flexibility, enabling frequently used functions to be assigned according to individual working preferences.

The system also integrates guidance, ISOBUS and implement-management functions, helping operators coordinate tractor and implement operations from a single interface.

To make the technology easier to learn and use, Valtra has incorporated a new integrated help function. Operators can access expanded information and scan QR codes for additional guidance, potentially reducing the time required to learn unfamiliar functions.

The tractor is also available with the Active Gen2 armrest, which provides dedicated controls and configurable functions in an accessible layout. Both SmartTouch Gen2 and Active Gen2 configurations are designed to work together with the A-pillar display, keeping key operating information within the driver’s normal field of vision.

Automation Designed to Reduce Operator Workload

The new T Series incorporates a range of automation features intended to improve consistency and simplify repetitive operations.

These include Tractor Implement Management, Ground Speed Hydraulics and Front Linkage Control. By automating selected functions, the systems can reduce the number of manual adjustments required during fieldwork and help maintain consistent operation.

Ground Speed Hydraulics, for example, can coordinate hydraulic functions with tractor movement, while implement-management technologies help improve communication between the tractor and compatible implements.

The configurable control environment also allows operators to adapt the tractor to specific jobs. This can be particularly useful for professional users who regularly move between different implements or applications.

Factory-Ready Digital Connectivity

Connectivity is another important component of the 6th-generation T Series. The tractors are factory-ready for PTx FarmENGAGE, enabling machine information, work tasks, documentation and agronomic data to be transferred between the tractor, field and farm office.

The system is designed to support mixed-fleet operations, allowing farms and contractors to manage information across equipment from different manufacturers. This can help reduce information silos and make digital farm-management processes more integrated.

Valtra sees this connectivity as part of a broader move toward an agricultural ecosystem in which tractors, implements, farm-management systems and data can work together regardless of equipment manufacturer.

Johan Grotell, Manager Product Marketing, Valtra EME, said the new T Series brings together intelligent controls, low-rpm engine performance and connected farming capabilities to create a more intuitive operating experience.

Customisation for Different Applications

Valtra is also continuing to emphasise factory customisation through its Valtra Unlimited offering. This allows customers to configure tractors for specific operational requirements and sectors.

The combination of multiple transmission choices, configurable controls, connectivity and factory customisation means the T Series can be adapted for applications ranging from conventional crop production to livestock operations, agricultural contracting, forestry and municipal work.

This flexibility is particularly relevant to professional operators who may use the same tractor for several different tasks throughout the year.

Matti Tiitinen, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Valtra EME, described the 6th-generation T Series as a significant introduction for the company, highlighting customer demand for higher performance, lower operating costs, improved connectivity and easier operation.

Orders Open for the New T Series

Customers can order the 6th-generation Valtra T Series from October 1, 2026, with first deliveries expected by the end of the year, subject to availability.

With its new CORE75 engine, expanded transmission choices, SmartTouch Gen2 interface, advanced automation and factory-ready FarmENGAGE connectivity, the new T Series marks a significant update to Valtra’s tractor portfolio.
