AgroSolutions Remy Lyczko Appointed President of Sumitomo Biorational’s AgroSolutions Division
Sumitomo Biorational Company LLC has announced the appointment of Remy Lyczko as President of its AgroSolutions Division (ASD), effective July 1, 2026. The leadership appointment marks an important step in the company’s strategy to strengthen its position in the global biorational agriculture market while accelerating the development of sustainable crop protection technologies for growers worldwide.
In his new role, Lyczko will oversee the AgroSolutions Division, which focuses on developing and commercializing innovative biorational and botanical solutions designed to help farmers increase productivity, improve crop quality, and adopt more sustainable farming practices. His appointment reflects Sumitomo Biorational’s commitment to advancing environmentally responsible agricultural technologies that meet the changing needs of modern farming.
The AgroSolutions Division plays a central role in the company’s mission to provide biological and botanical products that complement conventional crop protection programs while supporting regenerative agriculture initiatives. As agriculture continues to face increasing pressure from climate change, regulatory shifts, pest resistance, and consumer demand for sustainable food production, the division is expected to expand its portfolio of innovative technologies that help growers manage crops more efficiently while minimizing environmental impact.
Under Lyczko’s leadership, the AgroSolutions Division will continue developing solutions that align with evolving agricultural practices around the world. The company aims to support growers with products that improve crop performance, protect yields, and contribute to healthier agricultural ecosystems. This includes expanding technologies that fit into integrated pest management (IPM) programs and regenerative farming systems that promote soil health, biodiversity, and long-term sustainability.
The appointment comes at a time when demand for biological crop protection products and biorational technologies continues to grow globally. Farmers are increasingly seeking alternatives and complementary solutions that can reduce reliance on traditional chemical inputs while maintaining productivity and profitability. Sumitomo Biorational has positioned itself as a key player in this rapidly expanding sector by investing in research, innovation, and sustainable product development.
Lyczko brings more than two decades of leadership experience in the global agrochemical and biorational industries. Throughout his career, he has built extensive expertise in commercial strategy, product development, market expansion, and customer engagement across several major agricultural regions. His experience spans North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of diverse farming systems and regional agricultural challenges.

Over the course of his career, Lyczko has successfully introduced innovative crop protection solutions to international markets while developing strong partnerships with distributors, retailers, and growers. His experience in both conventional agrochemicals and biological crop protection positions him well to lead Sumitomo Biorational’s efforts to expand sustainable agricultural technologies globally.
Since joining the Sumitomo Chemical Group in 2014, Lyczko has held several senior leadership positions with increasing responsibility across the organization’s global operations. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Commercial Operations for Sumitomo Biorational Company, where he played an instrumental role in driving commercial performance, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the company’s strategic growth initiatives.
In that position, Lyczko worked closely with commercial teams to enhance operational efficiency, expand market presence, and improve customer engagement. His leadership helped reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering innovative biological and botanical crop solutions while maintaining strong partnerships throughout the agricultural value chain.
Before assuming the Vice President role, Lyczko served as Commercial Director for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Region at Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe. In this capacity, he led regional commercial strategies and supported business growth across multiple countries, helping the organization strengthen its presence in key agricultural markets.
Earlier in his career with the company, he held the position of Country Manager for Philagro France, where he was responsible for managing commercial operations in one of Europe’s important agricultural markets. His leadership contributed to business development, customer engagement, and successful market expansion initiatives.
Lyczko also served as Sustainable Solutions Business Director for the EMEA region at Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe. In that role, he focused on promoting sustainable agricultural technologies and expanding the adoption of innovative crop protection solutions that align with modern environmental and regulatory expectations. His experience in sustainable agriculture provides valuable expertise as the company continues to increase investment in biological and biorational technologies.
The appointment reflects Sumitomo Chemical’s broader commitment to advancing agricultural innovation through sustainable science and technology. As growers face increasingly complex production challenges—including climate variability, changing pest pressures, stricter environmental regulations, and evolving consumer expectations—the demand for effective biological crop solutions continues to rise.
Biorational products have become an increasingly important component of integrated crop management strategies because they offer growers additional tools to manage pests and diseases while supporting environmental stewardship. Botanical products, microbial solutions, and other biological technologies are playing an expanding role in helping farmers improve productivity while reducing environmental impacts.
Sumitomo Biorational continues to invest in research and development aimed at creating next-generation solutions that integrate with existing farming systems. The company believes that innovation in biological crop protection will become increasingly important as agriculture transitions toward more resilient and sustainable production models.
Commenting on the appointment, Tadashi Katayama, Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Chemical and President of the Agro & Life Solutions Sector, expressed confidence in Lyczko’s ability to guide the division through its next phase of growth.
According to Katayama, Lyczko’s extensive industry experience, strategic leadership, and collaborative management style make him exceptionally well suited to lead the AgroSolutions Division. He noted that throughout his career, Lyczko has consistently demonstrated an ability to develop high-performing teams, strengthen customer partnerships, and deliver sustainable business growth across multiple international markets.
Katayama added that the company looks forward to Lyczko’s continued contributions as he leads the AgroSolutions Division in expanding its portfolio of biorational innovations for agriculture worldwide. He emphasized that the division will continue focusing on delivering practical solutions that help growers meet productivity goals while supporting long-term environmental sustainability.
Looking ahead, Lyczko will be responsible for guiding the division’s strategic direction, strengthening innovation pipelines, enhancing commercial performance, and expanding the company’s global footprint in biological crop protection. His leadership is expected to reinforce Sumitomo Biorational’s position as a trusted provider of science-based agricultural solutions that address both current and future challenges facing farmers.
As sustainable agriculture becomes an increasingly important priority across global food production systems, Sumitomo Biorational aims to continue developing technologies that help growers balance productivity, profitability, and environmental responsibility. With Remy Lyczko leading the AgroSolutions Division, the company is positioning itself to accelerate innovation and support the transition toward more resilient and sustainable agricultural practices worldwide.
