Fluence, a prominent global provider of energy-efficient LED lighting solutions catering to commercial cannabis and food production, has unveiled its latest LED top light offerings tailored for produce and ornamental cultivators: RAPTR 2 and VYPR 4. These cutting-edge LED innovations by Fluence have been developed in conjunction with the company’s extensive global research program, which encompasses collaborations with industry leaders worldwide and in-depth in-house analysis focusing on spectral optimization across various crops. The introduction of the new RAPTR and VYPR fixtures enriches Fluence’s existing portfolio of lighting solutions, providing growers worldwide with robust fixtures boasting higher wattages, enhanced efficiencies, and overall increased return on investment (ROI).
RAPTR 2: With higher wattages and tunable spectra, growers can optimize light output and efficiency at reduced installation costs.
The RAPTR 2 fixture offers a broad power range of up to 1400 W, multi-channel tunable spectra, and delivers up to 5050 μmol/s of light output, positioning it as the ideal lighting solution for upgrading HPS fixtures in greenhouse settings. Equipped with steerable spectra, including far red, integrated wireless dimming capability, and efficiencies reaching up to 4.0 μmol/J, cultivators can achieve enhanced crop performance and reduced operational expenses with the new RAPTR 2.
Steve Graves, senior vice president of strategy and business development at Fluence, commented, “The latest RAPTR and VYPR series luminaires exemplify Fluence’s unwavering commitment to its primary mission: facilitating smarter growth worldwide through cutting-edge LED fixtures. We are thrilled to introduce our most powerful and efficient solutions yet and are eager to drive industry advancement alongside our global partners.”
VYPR 4: Offering increased versatility and control to maximize cultivation outcomes.
Featuring the recognizable low-profile design of the VYPR line, VYPR 4 presents expanded spectral options, uniform light distribution at any mounting height, simplified installation, and higher light intensities with reduced energy consumption.
Jordon Musser, chief product officer for Fluence, remarked, “VYPR 4 represents a versatile top light solution that addresses the core needs of every grower: enhanced efficiency resulting in tangible ROI. Installation is swift, the fixtures boast exceptional durability, and growers can leverage Fluence’s diverse spectral options to customize a lighting regimen tailored to their cultivation objectives.”
VYPR 4 delivers output levels of up to 3030 μmol/s and efficiencies of up to 3.9 μmol/J. The fixture also incorporates dual-channel far red spectra and Fluence’s wide array of PhysioSpec™ spectra, empowering growers with multiple lighting strategies. Additionally, VYPR 4’s low profile minimizes shading in greenhouse environments and now offers a wide-beam optic for optimized light dispersion.
Fluence will unveil RAPTR 2 and VYPR 4 at its forthcoming global trade shows, including HortiContact scheduled from March 5 to March 7, 2024, in the Netherlands.
