Tractor Supply and Starlink Expand Rural Connectivity Support for 4-H Youth
Tractor Supply Company, 4-H and Starlink are expanding their collaborative effort to improve digital connectivity in rural communities while creating additional opportunities for young people across the United States.
The companies announced the next phase of their initiative, which combines rural broadband access with support for local 4-H programs. Through November 15, customers who purchase an eligible Starlink kit at a Tractor Supply store or through TractorSupply.com and activate the service can help generate funding for 4-H youth programs.
Under the initiative, Starlink will donate an amount equal to the customer’s first month of subscription service to the National 4-H Council. The resulting funds will support local 4-H programs designed to provide young people with skills, educational experiences and development opportunities that can help prepare them for future careers and everyday life.
The partnership brings together three organizations with established connections to rural communities. Tractor Supply operates more than 2,400 stores across the country, Starlink provides satellite-based internet connectivity, and 4-H has an extensive network serving young people throughout the United States.
Connecting Rural Communities
Reliable internet access has become increasingly important for families, students, farmers, small-business owners and rural communities. Broadband connectivity can affect access to education, employment, healthcare, business services and other resources.
For young people in particular, limited home internet access can make it more difficult to complete school assignments, participate in digital learning programs and access educational resources. The Tractor Supply, Starlink and 4-H initiative seeks to address part of this challenge by linking connectivity with youth development.
Customers can find Starlink kits alongside the agricultural, livestock, lawn and garden and rural lifestyle products available at Tractor Supply locations. Store Team Members can also assist customers with questions about purchasing and activating the equipment.
How the Customer Program Works
The program is designed to allow customers to contribute to 4-H simply by purchasing and activating an eligible Starlink kit.
For eligible kits purchased at Tractor Supply stores or through TractorSupply.com and activated through November 15, Starlink will donate the value of the customer’s first month of subscription service to the National 4-H Council.
Customers purchasing Starlink equipment in Tractor Supply stores can also qualify for an additional $50 discount with proof of activation.
The in-store promotion applies to Starlink Standard and Starlink Mini kits. Customers can activate their equipment using the Starlink QR code before completing checkout. Proof of activation must be presented at checkout to receive the discount, and the $50 offer is available for qualifying in-store purchases.
The initiative builds on Tractor Supply’s existing financial support for 4-H. The company previously donated $500,000 to the National 4-H Council to launch the collaboration.
Starlink is also contributing directly to rural youth programs by providing 100 kits and internet service to 4-H clubs serving young people in rural communities. These connections are intended to help clubs provide hands-on learning experiences involving STEM education, workforce development and other educational activities.

Supporting 4-H’s Youth Development Efforts
The partnership extends beyond internet hardware. Funds generated through qualifying Starlink purchases will support 4-H programming focused on helping young people develop practical skills and prepare for future opportunities.
The National 4-H Council’s Beyond Ready initiative is designed to help young people build skills and experiences that can support them in work and life. Expanding access to digital resources is an important component of that effort, particularly for young people living in communities where broadband access remains limited.
According to 4-H, approximately 12 million young people do not have broadband internet access at home. The organization has identified digital connectivity as an important factor in helping young people participate fully in education and maintain connections with their communities.
The organization has also established a goal of reaching 10 million young people annually by 2030 through its Beyond Ready initiative.
Leaders Highlight the Partnership
The initiative was announced earlier this year at the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The announcement brought together leaders from Tractor Supply, 4-H, Starlink and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Tractor Supply President and CEO Hal Lawton said the initiative reflects the company’s focus on supporting rural customers and investing in young people within the communities it serves.
“Serving Life Out Here means helping our customers bring reliable internet home and investing in the young people growing up in their communities,” Lawton said. He added that providing broadband access can help give rural youth additional tools and opportunities while strengthening their communities.
David Goldman, Vice President of Satellite Policy at SpaceX, said the collaboration supports Starlink’s broader objective of expanding internet access.
Goldman said the company is working with Tractor Supply and 4-H to help bring high-speed internet connectivity to rural communities and support educational opportunities, including STEM programs.
Jill Bramble, President and CEO of the National 4-H Council, emphasized the importance of digital access as 4-H works toward its goal of reaching 10 million young people annually by 2030.
Bramble said expanding connectivity is particularly important in rural communities and highlighted the contributions from Tractor Supply and Starlink to the organization’s youth development efforts.
Building on Tractor Supply’s Longstanding 4-H Support
The latest initiative builds on a long-running relationship between Tractor Supply and 4-H.
Through its Paper Clover fundraising campaign, Tractor Supply has raised more than $27 million for 4-H youth programs since 2010. The biannual campaign has become a significant part of the company’s community engagement efforts and provides financial support for local 4-H organizations.
The Starlink partnership adds a technology component to that support by connecting broadband access with youth development.
Rather than focusing solely on connectivity, the initiative combines internet access with educational and workforce-development opportunities. The organizations say this approach can help rural young people access resources that may otherwise be difficult to reach.
Expanding Digital Opportunities for Rural Youth
The digital divide remains a significant issue for communities where reliable internet service is unavailable, limited or difficult to afford. For students, the effects can extend beyond classroom learning, influencing access to online educational materials, extracurricular programs and career resources.
For rural businesses and agricultural operations, connectivity can also support communication, remote services and digital tools increasingly used across the agriculture industry.
By making Starlink equipment available through Tractor Supply’s nationwide retail network, the partnership provides rural customers with another avenue for accessing satellite internet technology. At the same time, the associated donations provide an additional source of funding for 4-H programs.
The 100 Starlink kits being provided to 4-H clubs will also give participating organizations the opportunity to incorporate reliable internet service into hands-on youth programming.
Key Figures Behind the Initiative
Several figures highlight the scale of the partnership and its broader objectives:
- 12 million: The number of young people 4-H estimates are living without broadband internet access at home.
- 10 million: The number of young people 4-H aims to reach annually by 2030 through its Beyond Ready initiative.
- More than $27 million: The amount Tractor Supply says it has raised for 4-H youth programs since 2010 through its Paper Clover fundraising campaign.
- 100: The number of Starlink kits being provided to rural 4-H clubs as part of the initiative.
- $500,000: Tractor Supply’s initial donation to the National 4-H Council to launch the collaboration.
Starlink Kits Available at Tractor Supply
Eligible Starlink kits are now available at Tractor Supply stores nationwide and through TractorSupply.com. Customers who purchase qualifying equipment and activate the service by November 15 can participate in the fundraising component of the program.
The initiative demonstrates how retail purchases, connectivity technology and youth development programs can be combined to address multiple needs in rural communities. By connecting customers with internet technology while directing additional resources toward 4-H programs, Tractor Supply, Starlink and the National 4-H Council are expanding the scope of their existing partnership.
As rural communities continue adapting to an increasingly digital economy, access to reliable internet can play an important role in education, workforce preparation and community development. The organizations involved in the initiative are using their respective networks and resources to create additional digital and educational opportunities for rural youth.
Customers and communities interested in learning more about the program can find information through Tractor Supply and the National 4-H Council, while eligible Starlink products are available through participating Tractor Supply locations and the company’s online store.
