Agri-Food Value Chains Set for AI-Driven Transformation Through FPT and CP Partnership
In a significant step toward advancing digital innovation in Southeast Asia’s agricultural sector, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) and FPT Corporation have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at transforming agri-food value chains through artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced digital technologies. The collaboration, formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will focus on enhancing agricultural production, food processing, manufacturing operations, and supply chain management throughout Vietnam.
The agreement represents a major milestone in the ongoing modernization of the region’s food and agriculture industries and highlights the growing role of technology in addressing challenges related to food security, operational efficiency, sustainability, and traceability.
The MoU was officially exchanged during the Thailand-Vietnam Business Forum 2026, held on May 28, 2026, in Bangkok. The high-profile event brought together government officials, business leaders, and industry stakeholders from both countries. The ceremony was attended by Thailand’s Prime Minister, H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, and Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President, H.E. To Lam.
The forum marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, established in 1976, and was held under the theme “Growing Together.” The event underscored the two nations’ commitment to strengthening economic ties and fostering innovation-driven development through cross-border cooperation.
Advancing Digital Agriculture Through Strategic Collaboration
Under the newly signed agreement, C.P. Vietnam Corporation, a subsidiary of CPF and one of Vietnam’s largest integrated agri-food enterprises, will work closely with FPT to evaluate, develop, and implement a range of AI-powered solutions across its extensive Feed-Farm-Food value chain.
The collaboration is expected to span from 2026 through 2028 and potentially extend beyond that period as both organizations explore long-term opportunities for innovation and growth.
C.P. Vietnam operates one of the country’s most comprehensive agricultural ecosystems, covering animal feed production, livestock farming, food processing, and food distribution. Through this partnership, the company aims to leverage cutting-edge technologies to optimize every stage of its operations, from production facilities and farms to supply chain networks and consumer-facing services.
For FPT, one of Asia’s leading technology and digital transformation companies, the agreement provides an opportunity to expand the application of its AI expertise within one of Vietnam’s most important economic sectors.

Key Areas of Technological Innovation
The partnership encompasses a broad range of advanced digital initiatives designed to enhance productivity, efficiency, and transparency across agricultural and food operations.
Among the primary areas of cooperation are Smart Camera and AI Vision systems, which can provide real-time monitoring and analytics for production environments. These technologies are expected to support quality control, animal health monitoring, and operational oversight while reducing reliance on manual inspection processes.
The companies will also explore Smart Scale technologies and customer experience solutions that can improve accuracy in production management and strengthen engagement across supply chains.
In manufacturing and logistics, the collaboration will focus on Smart Manufacturing and Smart Supply Chain systems capable of optimizing workflows, improving resource allocation, and enabling more responsive decision-making.
Another important component of the initiative involves the deployment of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms. These connected systems can facilitate data collection from equipment, sensors, and production facilities, allowing operators to gain deeper visibility into operations and improve overall efficiency.
The agreement also includes efforts to establish centralized data integration platforms, enabling information from multiple business functions to be consolidated and analyzed more effectively.
AI-driven operational intelligence will play a central role in the collaboration. The companies plan to evaluate Agentic AI technologies that can support predictive analytics, automated decision-making, and intelligent recommendations across agricultural and manufacturing operations.
Food safety and traceability are also major priorities. Enhanced digital tracking systems will help monitor products throughout the value chain, enabling consumers and regulators to verify product origins and production processes with greater confidence.
Pilot Smart Farm Initiative
One of the most ambitious aspects of the partnership is the development of Smart Farm pilot projects at selected C.P. Vietnam facilities.
The pilot phase will serve as a testing ground for AI-enabled agricultural technologies and digital management systems. By integrating advanced monitoring tools, automated processes, and data-driven decision-making capabilities, both organizations aim to create highly efficient farming environments that can serve as models for future expansion.
The initial objectives are substantial. The companies are targeting an approximately 20 percent reduction in operational costs while achieving complete food safety traceability throughout the production process.
If successful, the Smart Farm model could be expanded across additional C.P. Vietnam facilities and eventually throughout its extensive contract farming network.
Such expansion would allow advanced agricultural technologies to reach a much broader group of Vietnamese farmers, helping accelerate the modernization of the country’s agricultural sector and contributing to national food security goals.
Supporting Regional Growth and Food Security
Levi Nguyen, Chief Executive Officer of FPT Thailand and FPT Taiwan at FPT Corporation, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership and its potential impact on the agricultural industry.
According to Nguyen, FPT’s AI-first strategy and extensive experience supporting global manufacturers position the company to help build a more connected, resilient, and intelligent agri-food ecosystem. He noted that the collaboration reflects a broader opportunity for Vietnam and Thailand to harness next-generation technologies to strengthen food security, improve competitiveness, and create sustainable growth across Southeast Asia’s agricultural value chains.
The partnership aligns closely with regional efforts to promote innovation-driven economic development and increase the adoption of advanced technologies across critical industries.
Strengthening Vietnam’s Agri-Food Future
Pawalit Ua-amornwanit, Chief Executive Officer of C.P. Vietnam, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Program 2026–2030.
The program seeks to deepen cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, investment, technology transfer, and digital transformation.
Through its collaboration with FPT, C.P. Vietnam aims to accelerate digital transformation throughout its integrated Feed-Farm-Food business model while continuing to deliver safe, high-quality products to consumers.
The company views technology as a critical enabler of sustainable growth and believes that AI-driven innovation can help create a more efficient, transparent, and environmentally responsible food production system.
FPT’s Expanding Regional Presence
The partnership further strengthens FPT’s growing presence across Asia-Pacific markets. Since its establishment, the technology company has become a trusted digital transformation partner for more than 500 enterprises throughout the region.
FPT supports organizations across numerous industries, including financial services, insurance, retail, automotive manufacturing, healthcare, energy, consumer goods, and aviation. Its client portfolio includes globally recognized companies such as Unilever, Honda, Panasonic, Hitachi, and Microsoft.
In addition to its commercial activities, FPT plays an active role in strengthening economic ties between Vietnam and Thailand as a co-founder of the Vietnam–Thailand Chamber of Commerce.
As AI adoption continues to reshape industries worldwide, the partnership between CPF, C.P. Vietnam, and FPT demonstrates how technology and agriculture can converge to build smarter, safer, and more sustainable food systems for the future.
